This is a video on how to perform both methods of factory reset on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Soft reset and hard reset

Thanks for this - it worked! My volume button was one of the things not working so I was unable to do a factory reset. I have ordered a new Samsung tab. However today I found the volume button was working and I was able to do a reset. Will give my husband the old Samsung when the new one arrives. Thanks again.

This is an exceptional tab, I love it, it has better LED resolution then my S22, the only problem is that the software is outdated and unsupported. Kept crashing until I restored it! Good Job

Great video. I keep getting blackouts on mine so I'm going to attempt this to try to fix. It is very old though. Can you suggest a fix for very very slow recharge time and battery life??? Do these have replacable lithium batteries inside ???

LOL. all the documentation I saw was to press Home, Power and Volume UP. This was the only thing I found where it actually said to do the correct process of Home/Power/Volume DOWN. Thanks for the correct info.

Ok, this may be a dumb question. If you do this reset does it revert back to the original version of Android, wiping out the updates that were pushed by Samsung, or does it just erase all user data ?

That is the Samsung keyboard case for the Tab S 10.5. I bought several of them on Ebay back in 2015-2016 for about $25.00 each. They might be harder to locate now.

I followed each step. Problem is in set up mode the galaxy tablet continually says "couldn't connect to internet" I successfully reset two other tablets using the same router. Please advise me how to connect to Internet in set up mode. I no longer have access to device settings until set up has been completed.
