This doesn’t work anymore, at least on my version of windows, it asks for a password before going in to the command prompt at 1:18. That being said this is literally an exploit so I’m not surprised they patched it

Had to use this method for a client today that was scammed and locked out of the computer. Someone claiming to be from Xfinity took remote control of the client's computer and ended up locking them out. The method described in the video worked to perfection. It saved my client a lot of anxiety after not being able to access their computer. Thanks.

Works perfectly. The part about double-checking which drive letter has Windows on it is especially useful because I had to reset the Win11 password on a dual-boot Win10/Win11 laptop, it helped me avoid hours of troubleshooting by changing the files on the wrong Windows partition.

If this isn’t working: - Restart your PC - While windows is loading (three spinning dots) hold down the power button for 10 - 15 seconds - Do this twice and on the third startup windows will automatically bring up the troubleshooting page - From there go to CMD and follow the steps in the video Hope this helps! :)

Great video as usual. After seeing this video, I'm glad I'm retired. I used to think it was hard for someone to mess with my PC at work. I remember a few guys being fired over the years for having stuff on their PC. Now I'm convinced that any pc in an office environment is pretty much open season! (Maybe it always was but I didn't realize it.)

Can you confirm the Britec account had a password at the start of the video? I can't reproduce this on my PC. Windows asks for the password to start the first command prompt.

@Britec09 it seems this solution still works but you will see the 'set password' button greyed out at any case, then you will have tick advanced tab and the advanced button, select the account in the users folder and left click, choose set password ... doing this within 30 secs because system will close any windows that are open on the lockscreen.

This legit helped me. Even though I reset my Microsoft password and tried it, even though my laptop was connected into its known home network, there was no other way to reset other than my memorable answers which God knows why were not working, assuming due to a space etc. I was able to reset a password for a laptop I had not used in months.
