THIS VIDEO SHOWS HOW I HAVE RECOVERED AND RESTORED MANY MOTORCYCLE SEATS IN THE SHOP FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY IN ABOUT AN HOUR EACH. A NEW SEAT COVER IS AN INEXPENSIVE UPGRADE TO ANY MOTORCYCLE.

Omg! Thank you so much for this video, I'm trying to do this on my motorcycle right now and I stopped to watch some tutorials. I almost gave up but encountered your video. I'll use your tips. It really takes a lot of patience to do this.

I saved a couple old outdoor chair cushions cause not only do they have batting in it I could use it has a good sturdy foam that’s easy to cut w a sharp blade and is a bit softer then the firm seat foam your work n with . So a tip I’ll give ya that I do is when I get a seat that damaged usually where the cover has been ripped and mice were get n in there and stealing the foam for a nest and its breaks down from the sun and rain water and mold etc . You know what I’m taking about people …. Well I actually cut out even more foam off the seat to remove some of the mold and rot and I take the foam from the outdoor seat cushion and I cut little strips a little longer then the damaged foam and keep laying em in following the OE form sometime a tacky adhesive helps when it’s on the top side edge or side and I keep adding these long thick chunks until when I push the pile down flat that it feels the same resistance as the OEM foam at least close to it and you will have a pile higher then the seat because it’s much softer then the seat foam your fix n . I use painters tape also because it’s really thin and wrap it around the seat holding down that pile to the seat then throw the batting onto and start stapling and stretching front to back and you will have a brand new seat when your done . I’ve used seat cusion foam for years now and added over a 1/4 of the seat w that foam before and you would never know it feels exactly like original most of the time better because you can make it softer or stiffer to your liking and it’s free !! Anyway hope I explained that well enough so everybody understands cause it really is a money saver and I like to give life back to things that are head n for the trash . It could sit in a landfill or in the ocean for the next 200 years or it can sit on a bike being sat on for the 100… thanks for the videos Windy I like the time you spend explaining everything in layman’s terms

BEING HONEST I HAVE NEVER DONE ONE WITH A METAL PAN BUT I AM WONDERING IF POP RIVITS WOULD WORK??? I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW MORE IF YOU FIND A SOLUTION PLEASE LET ME SHARE IT ON THE CHANNEL. HOT GLUE PROBABLY NOT STRONG ENOUGH. THE REAL SOLUTION WOULD BE TO TAILOR MAKE A COVER THAT SLIPS OVER AND GLUE WOULD HOLD BECAUSE MINIMUM STRETCHING WOULD BE INVOLVED. I WILL SEE IF ANYONE IN MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS HAS A PRACTICAL SOLUTION.
