David Landesman, Co-President of Lawson Screen & Digital Products, demonstrates how Multi-Tech’s Thinner DT/Reducer #4 can rejuvenate plastisol ink that has been sitting on the shelf for a long time and has become thick and stiff.
Thinner DT/Reducer #4 is a highly concentrated solution. Add some of the thinner to the plastisol ink. Typically do this by weight of the ink, anywhere from 1-4%. In this video, David uses a cap full-2 cap fulls for a quart. Just add in the thinner and stir with a stainless steel spatula. David suggests stainless steel in comparison to wood. Wood spatulas absorb plasticizer.
You don't have to worry about curing temperature or speed. The Thinner DT/Reducer #4 will simply flash off when it goes through the dryer. Cure the way you normally would.
