my ct-400 has bias issues, when i playback a recording the volume on the left channel is lower on high frequencies, could this be a capacitor problem?

Hey I swapped a Sendust head from a CT-F900 into my CT-F950 and it sounded a lot better, but wasn't quite right. I compared schematics and the CT-F950 has a 68k resistor parallel with the heads while the CT-F900 does not. I lifted the leads on these resistors (blue-grey-orange R101, R202 on the schematic, located near the where the pb head leads connect to the PC board on the right side of the machine) and the HF response is much better.

How much would you charge to completely go though my pioneer ct-f950 tape deck? I want the best of the best parts in her, belts, caps and any other replaceable parts. I’d like to get 20 plus year from it again

I purchased two of these decks. Both sellers said they worked. They would stop after a few seconds. I gave up and purchased a Akai deck. I really wanted one to go with my rt 909 and my Sa 8800 amp.

Could you restore my CT-F950

what's the difference between the 900 & 950 ? Does the 900 have manual bias adjustment r is it auto calibration ?

I am Halfway throught restoring a pioneer ct-91a - I will be posting a video - HOW TO RESTORE - soon.

At 10 time the speed the sound is far better than the tape he restore.. hahaha

This guy died last year. I sent him my 1250 for restoration and he died just after he took it apart.
