Your hair is different to mine, but I had dreads for 10 years, I found that using a tiny crochet hook really helped thicken them up to avoid them breaking off once they start to get a bit heavier.

Brother you have to have at least 2 mirrors or one mirror and a mobile....so that you can somehow see the back of your head...I personally put a mirror in the back and use Snapchat from my front camera to zoom and see clearly all my sections and stuff......also you will face some awkward moments while doing the back of your head first few times....but then you will get used to it and will figure it out yourself

Use a wool tam or a wool hat and do it for about a month or month and a half not all day everyday just when you have the free time for that long of time and it will work I have 3a-3b hair and I’m semi free forming with a wool rub start and it’s going fine

Do a twist and rip with the two locs and then root rub the roots together a bit with a wool hat or wool tam and then let it rock when you wash it will help it as well but if your in a rush you may wanna twirl them together after a wash again to keep them somewhat together so when they dry they dry together and frizz into one another

get a crochet hook three needle one 0.5mm twist one loc round the other go down the loc with it and combine them ..... rubberbands are damaging I've seen videos from the effect of someone combining wicks with them and it hasn't been pretty
