FOR EVERYONE WHO IS CRASHED IN THE MENU: Remove files that start with ccBG from the DATA folder. It's the newer creation club stuff that causes the crashes. Only ccBG files are needed to be removed, others are fine

Yea, I believe he either mistakingly put those ccBG files into the respective folder, or it didn't mess his game up? Either way, GREAT comment, this saved my run.

man I wish I saw your video first. I did the snail guys tutorial and of course he skips over the one part that I don't know how to just do since im not tech savy. Your video actually shows the whole process and each click. Now my console steam thing shows errors and I can't even download the depots anymore. I just started playing F04 after years and my first time with mods. I appreciate the video its great work

Thanks very much for this great tutorial. I needed to show which files belong to which file. Other tutorials weren't even showing it. And it was not working for me because of it. Your tutorial helped. I had another problem though. I had an error with entry point and could not even start the game through f4se. I found out that it was because my file depot_377163 was not fully downloaded and contained 12GB (even tho steam showed me that it was downloaded). The file should have 18GB. So I downloaded it again, checked the size and proceeded with your tutorial and the error was solved and I was able to launch the game.

Just to clarify these issues: Don't delete creation club folder, delete the creation club files in the "DATA" these begin with "ccBG" Also if your'e getting an error in console "Depot download failed : missing license for depots" its probably because you dont have the DLC each of these depots include something separate. Read the NMM forum about this to find which ones. Additionally if your'e using NMM go to "Dashboard"> Scroll down to "Tools"> next to Fallout 4 Script Extender click the 3 dots and "set as primary" this is so when you launch via NMM it will auto launch F4SE

Thanks for the help. Here's some additional info that may help someone stuck. I did have to do a couple of things to get my game back to normal. 1) As mentioned in the description above, I had to delete the creation club files. Those are files in the data folder that start with "ccBG" 2) I had to reinstall all texture mods that replaced loose files.

@@SteelFerrettThe update seems to modify texture files. I am using Fallout 4 HD 2K Textures and when I loaded in, everything was purple, until I reinstalled it. Also, I was using Proto Vault Suit and was naked when loaded in. Had to reinstall the mod to get it back.

Good tutorial. I'll add from what people were saying on my video that there's a chance for crashes if someone is playing on a different language, and there are specific depot codes for said languages. You can find them on the F4SE Nexus page.. If the download fails, change server, delete the stuff in the 'content' folder, and then restart steam and try again.

This got it working, thank you so much! The issue now is that for whatever reason, almost none of my mods are loading. It is recognizing some of them as being installed, however not all of them are loading. I tried reinstalling some of the specific mods, but they won't load. It's not an issue with F4SE as that still appears in the corner + most of the many of the missing mods do not require F4SE. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

My steamapps folder doesn’t have the content folder. There’s a folder in the steam folder called depotcache that has similar looking files but there’s a whole lot

Put game into window mode in the launcher settings. Game loaded up. Closed game. Turned off window mode and the game loaded up fine

it wont stop crashing now... no mods installed and followed the tutorial to a tee, I have the right f4se and it goes into the loading screen and crashes, tried changing priorities and administrative but nothing works

Thank you for posting this video. After following the video, I launch the game from mod organizer with F4SE launcher but when the game starts up with the "please stand by loading screen" then 4 seconds later the program stops. What could be causing this, how can i fix it?

The last three lines are downloads for Automatron DLC, Automatron DLC English, and Wasteland Workshop. Aren't there more needed?

I’m have all the dlcs minus high res textures. If this helps. If your using high res textures there may be another line but I wouldn’t even suggest using it in 2024

Verified! Far Harbor and Nuka World are missing... from the list, as well as several game files. It's still a good tutorial, as it got me pointed in the right direction. Originally I wasn't even thinking about the Data File(s) needing to be separated.. because I'm a doofus apparently lol xD

So installing 37763 I ran into the problem of the depo file having WAY to much in it as it was just an entire new installation of Fallout 4, so idk what i did wrong but I tested it as writing this and I indeed did install a second copy of the game. (edit: should I start the whole thing over, like in deleting Fallout and trying fresh?)

You need to copy the directories exactly the same, if the depo file has a data folder and other stuff in it for example you put the stuff that isn’t in folders into the fallout 4 game file, stuff in data folder will go into your fallout data folder, and the folders inside data folder go into the same corresponding. If you have the depos fresh still you should be good, but if not just redo step 1, I think you won’t have to redownload the actual game though

hi i have a issue where i go to the steam folder and then steam apps and i dont have a content folder and i cant locate the files i downloaded using the download_depot codes is there a way to fix this just a heads up the downloads ended up on my c drive instead of my e drive

Mine was also in my c drive, it downloads to your direct steam directory. Look for your default steam download path installation and it should be there

I got it to work once, its when i full uninstalled fallout 4 and then installed only the files you told me, anytime i try to do it with fallout 4 already installed (like u were doing in the video) it crashes in the intro. I want to have it installed before hand like in the video because I want the DLC.

I had "don't update unless I open" or whatever it is, and IT STILL updated. I've only been opening with the Script extender too :/ very odd. Thanks for the tutorial. deffo doesn't take a minute! :P My morning is pretty much wasted on this BS update.

Tried a couple of times to do that. Like ten days ago. Then I gave up. Cause as a primitive fuck, anger invade me easily in front of a machine I don't understand. Especially when that machine decides to throw me a "fuck you, I updated without telling ya, hahaha". Decided to watch your video, actually, just to see. What happened to the save files? Your save files should still be there after changing the depots or did they corrupt with the update??

@@SteelFerrett No for whatever reason I dont have any of my newer save files. I had a survival game going forever. Beat the main story and almost beat nukaworld. That is a ton of saves. The closest save I have is barely leaving diamond city.... So devastating. I was level 57 and now I am all the way back to like 20 lol
