This week we offer up a few ideas how to outfit your 2019 or 2020 Bass Tracker Classic, looking back at how we rigged our 2018 Tracker Heritage. Some of the gear we put on this Bass Tracker Boat could be found in the first ever Bassmaster Classic, and it all still works today! This isn't a 2019 Bass Tracker Classic review or an official rundown of the 2019 Bass Tracker Classic specs, but it should get you on the right path if you want to rig it old school.

Ferris Bueller reference, ha! This video had me reading up about the original Bassmaster Classic boats. I fish out of a flat back Osage canoe which I adore. But if I had a crack at one of the original Rebels or Rangers I’d be hard pressed to say no! Love your mods. The Humminbird reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica Cylon robot.

You need to keep an eye out for a bass fishing "computer" that was on the market for a time. I've forgotten who made it I had one, but the only reason I had it was I worked at a tackle shop where the thing had been on the shelf for months. Finally the owner told me to take and get it out of the place if I wanted it.. It was about the size of an old paper chart recorder and was intended to be mounted on the dash. You entered the information, time of the year, water temp, water color and such, and in theory it would tell you what and where to fish. In practice it was almost as accurate as guessing, but it was a cool piece of stuff to have. Edited to add. It was called a Basstronics. Roland Martin and Bill Dance pitched it on their TV shows. And a PH meter. Another of Loren Hill's brainstorms. Another thing to add weight to your boat.

I had a portable fish finder that was like the second one you showed. It had a pole you stuck in the water. Broke it off the first time I used it in a lake and it ended up in the lake. My dad still has his. Dang. I have the ice fishing version of the fish finder mounted on your dashboard. Gave it to my dad to keep for when I go up icefishing and he can use it when I don't. Gotta be almost 20 years old.

I had everyone of those lures! Retro, do you remember the old Shimano rod that was very thick at the base, while normal sized on the rest of the rod? I can't remember what it was called, but it just fished so great! It was all graphite, and light, but strong! One day I simply picked it up, and the tip broke off. I was devastated because at the time it was so expensive for me!

I am big on old school fishing as it was NOT as it is. These military stile electronic s should be out lawed. Fish like fisherman fished i say. And it shouldn't take a 80,000$ boat to do it. And putting a 350hp motor on a bass boat is crazy PERIOD ! .
