The only thing I miss by NOT being the RC is riding at the back or middle of the pack and looking at the club rolling down the road, Kinda lonely at the front all the time, but I always get us there, cheers

No matter what kind of riding club, chapter, or group that you ride with... there always needs be some "Road Captains" to keep steering that towards what's up. Don't be afraid to be that for the pack that you're running with, folks!

100% Someone needs to take the lead. If you decide to lead, its your ride, you make the decisions and choices on where to go and what to do. You set the itinerary! Thats a benefit!

What do you recommend if it’s a three or four hour ride as far as a pre ride?
@SnifftyDugan5 ай бұрын
I street view in Google maps. I pick various points on each road to make sure its a decent road.

@@semperfi1566 Don't get me wrong, I'll do the 3 or 4 hour pre-ride a few weeks before as well. I don't like surprises. If its a perfect day, why not! Grab some of the boys and roll! Ive done both

New Jersey as in the the United States :) We do plenty of 400 mile days so don't assume just because its a HOG Chapter that we are bar hoppers. Hell, I just came back from the Outer Banks (450 each way) for the weekend. There is nothing close to us , so we have to travel to get to the good roads in NY and PA, Delaware etc. all our rides are at least 200 miles. Unless its a local poker run to support a charity. We do pre rides to make sure the routes are ideal. IN NJ, we have traffic lights and pot holes and stop signs everywhere. You are not going to drag 50 bikes through multiple stop lights, it will take 30 minutes. You have to do the pre ride to make sure you are not going to separate and cause chaos. Riding with 10 buddies is a whole lot different than leading a pack of 50.
