High Elves? Don't mind if I do! Here is a (hopefully) helpful guide on how to pull off that Quel'dorei roleplay!

I miss the days of original Warcraft when the High Elves were co-founders of the Old Alliance. Long live the memory of High King Anasterian and the Convocation of Silvermoon!

Fun fact: The High Elves originally taught a fledgling Mankind language and culture, and thousands of years later how to use magic; to enlist their aid in the Troll Wars. The High Elves, very much aware of the danger that long term magic use attracted the Burning Legion to our dimension, erected shields and barriers to protect the world spiritually from demonic incursions, as well as to physically defend Quel'Thalas. After the Troll Wars the High Elves warned their human allies to either demure from further use of magic or to also erect magical barriers. Humans, not wanting to mimic the High Elves pious lifestyle, instead created the Guardians of Tristfal to deal with unprotected magic use and the demonic rifts it caused.

How do the Ren’Dorei figure into all of this? Can I be a void elf that comes from high elf society? I see some high elf wayfarers in Telogrus Rift.

You forgot the High Elves in Kalimdor. Some of the Mages, Priests and refugees that sailed to Kalimdor with Jaina Proudmoore were high elves. Most are/were affiliated with Theramore. Going back further, most High Elves in Outland were part of the Alliance Expedition that sealed the Dark Portal behind them during the Second War. They were lead by Alleria Windrunner. Also with the restoration of the Sunwell at the end of the Burning Crusade and further shown with the Quel'delar questline, most elves do not suffer from their addiction so strongly. Relationships are still quite strained though. The ongoing story of my High Elven Ranger was that he sailed to Kalimdor with Jaina Proudmoore during the Third War- thus being absent during the sacking of Silvermoon. He's a rare case like most High Elves, but nonetheless a case. Aside from those minor things, this was very useful! I've had the Orb of the Sindorei for a while, I'll need to find the mirror and get one of those prisms!

Interesting is that it has been mentioned in lore several times that the Farstriders did not suffer the magic addiction withdrawl as much as the Magisters so that would explain why the Rangers who went to Theramore could do so well

Great guide! I also wouldn't mind High Elven or Human Botanists' guide to RP. As I am quite confused as to where the High Elves would evolve their trainings from.

Excellent job and I think it's actually possible to roll one on the Alliance side since most of the Void elf players actually run them in rp as a high elf. Even exhibiting Night elf high elf relations such as my level 28 High elf protection warrior dungeon tank kicking to night elves from group on a dungeon.

Update to this video as of the Velf unlock questiline, Lor'themar confirms that Quel'dorei are allowed on the ISle of quel danas... Pilgrimages to teh Sunwell are in fact a thing High Elves can request

Note that the Highborne and the High Elves are both considered Quel'dorei. The Highborne leaning more twords the Nightelf and the High Elves being, well, high elves. it's acceptable to call them both Quel'droei. Also i think that highelves would be welcome back into Sin'dorei society given the datamined voice files of Lorthemar welcoming Alleria back into silvermoon.

I never understood why they were never playable?? 😔😔 the Horde just stole the Blood Elves from us in the Burning Crusade, why can't they let the High Elves to be a playable race! Even as a sub-race to I just want them to be playable but that most likely never gonna happen because the Horde players and even Blizzard ( who favors the Horde every time) are against them to become a proper playable race!

Agreed. I would race change almost every one of my characters to alliance high elves if they became playable. The only reason blood elves were given to the horde was because of the faction imbalance. It really sucks though because I've always wanted to make a toon like Alleria Windrunner, who would DEFINITELY not be horde because she despises orcs.

You do make some valid points however, I don’t feel like a simple eye color change is enough to classify a new race and with void elves now playable I guess we can kiss this sweet dream good bye

Like said in the video less than 1% of the High Elves remain, they are too few in number to be their own playable race. They have no culture of their own, they have no capital city and their is too little difference between them and Blood Elves. Also the Horde didn't "steal" the Blood Elves, the Blood Elves didn't trust the Alliance after the actions of certain humans and will probably never trust them again.

Some more options! (BFA): For the Alliance - Void Elves (You've got blue eyes and share the model of a blood elf, but you're REALLY pale on your character model) For the Horde - Blood Elf DK, this is your best bet appearance-wise as you become a blood elf with blue eyes.

I don't really think the Night Elves don't trust the High Elves cuz they accepted the Highborne back in their society, so i think they got over that hatred for both the Highborne and the Quel'dorei (High Elves).

So if my character is a blood elf hunter and I am not addicted to magic what it makes me? sindorei or queldoeri(I want to be sin'dorei is it possible?)

The problem is that it ISN'T possible- the quel'dorei are addicted, they just don't do anything about it. They suffer in silence because they believe its better than absorbing fel magic. Hell, they may even be feeding on arcane in silence and just not telling anyone (its the fel that turned the sin'dorei's eyes green.) The thing is- a lot of people tend to just ignore the addiction (or handle it "off-screen".) So you can be sin'dorei, but handling your addiction can just be a thing you don't do in RP, and let it be assumed that you handle it in some way in the privacy of your own home or whatnot.

I find it easiest to use a Night Elf model, one or two of the skin tones are pinkish and as long you use white hair and no facial hair/tattoos you can kinda look like a high elf. That or roll a blonde human and make sure to add High Elf to the appearance description. I think this is more easily achieved with the female models.

There is a toy drop in the dungeon called "Magister's Terrace" called Orb of The Sindorei. Like she says, it changes your look into a bloodelf for five minutes but has a thirty minute cooldown. It drops 5% from the final boss Kael Thas. To get to this dungeon, fly to The Isle of Qel Danas via flight master and look there.

You can extend the length of the Orb by using the Reflection Prism. Use two charges on a party member and you'll be given another 5 min. I once stayed in the form for 3 hours during an RP event.

I only RP as a High Elf on my Blood Elf Death Knight as I found that the only way to do it without breaking lore. I just have it that they died and we're brought back during the scourge invasion of Quel'Thalas.

I was thinking to role play a High Elf. But with a Night Elf model. Is that ok ? Cuz humans can't be High Elves only half elves. So if I want to role play a High Elf as a night Elf I should have white hair, humanoid pale skin and nothing on my face ? And blue and silver armor ??

That's fine. Most people I see use human models because they're closer in physical size to the High Elves, but since they aren't a playable race, you can feasibly use anything you like.

But the Ai-Lis Skymirror you always have to go to that NPC if you want to get the look of it ??? Or it bonds with the mirror and you can always make yourself that NPC ??

But how are they still addicted to magic if the Sunwell was restored?? I mean I'm not addicted to it at all especially since the Sunwell was restored. But what about the others??

The Sunwell-and its magic-is the CAUSE of the addiction. Because the High/Blood Elves spent their whole life (for the most part) bathed in the Sunwell's radiance, it became infused into your very cells. When the Sunwell was destroyed, that magic-that part of you-was ripped from you. Your body, so used to having that constant magic flow into you, started experiencing rather painful withdrawal. The Sunwell isn't your salvation, but at the same time it is-it is both the source of the addiction and its cure, and only the Blood Elves have access to it. High Elves are forbidden from entering Silvermoon, Eversong, and Quel'danas (where the Sunwell is located.) They are still cut off from its energies-the Sunwell's radiance only goes so far. The High Elves still suffer from the withdrawal. They may be really good at hiding it. They may go so far as to tell others they aren't affected by it-but they are. High Elves are almost defined by their suffering, their steadfast refusal to devour magic and become Sin'dorei.

Sadly, its not really possible, unless you were willing to begin consuming fel magic (which may or may not have been a necessity for Half Elves.) They might be willing to overlook your human side for that, but then it would be up to the RPers you were with.

How it comes that the High Elves from Outland never felt anything after the Sunwell was destroyed and they didn't suffered from magic addiction? It was because of the big distance they had from Azeroth to Outland??

Anesteria Sunshinner Those weren't High Elves. By then, they were Blood Elves and already allied with Illidan, which didn't happen until after the Sunwell was destroyed. Likely they were feeding directly from demons, ad Outland was crawling with them since Magtheridon had established it as his base of operations.

They suffered just as much as the High Elves that got left behind on Azeroth. Suffering from an addiction isn't something someone just tells a total and complete stranger. Its likely they didn't say anything because they didn't really trust anyone when the Dark Portal opened and we came through. They had no reason to. It doesn't matter where they ended up, the High Elves all started off in Silvermoon and the Sunwell. They ALL feel the pangs of withdrawal. The Blood Elves simply chose to do something about it and when the High Elves objected, the Blood Elves told them to get out because Lor'themar Theron refused to lead a divided people, especially because the population who refused to consume fel the way Illidan taught them was so small they could easily be banished from Eversong to preserve what little peace there was left after Arthas ransacked the city and used their sacred source of magic to resurrect Kel'thuzad. There is only one difference between High Elves and Blood Elves, and that is that the Blood Elves feed their addiction. The High Elves don't, and they suffer for it. You can't sugar coat this, and you can't escape it (maybe half-elves are the exception because of their halfblood heritage.) If you are RPing a High Elf, you are dealing with this, one way or another-silent stoicism is what I see most of, but others openly embrace this. My point is that it cannot be escaped-if you are RPing a High Elf, you are RPing a character suffering from withdrawal, and that's not a bad thing. The best characters have flaws.

To have a High elf. and RP with horde betrayer or only high elves ! it will be hard yes ... Dk Blood elf ... Yes ! Dk have blue's eyes ! You will have to RP as a civil or a Ice mage. For alliance follow The inquisitor instructions.

Blood Elves do not have blue eyes. Their eyes are green from the fel magic they were absorbing during TBC. Only high Elves, those allied with the Alliance, have blue eyes (because they do not absorb magic at all), and they would not be allowed in Silvermoon as they were exiled. Obviously, there's only so much you can do about High Elf RP in Silvermoon, but according to the lore, they would be tossed out of the city.
