How to Run a Clothing Brand Drop: Pre-Order vs Pre-Made

In this video I show 2 ways to run your clothing drops: the pre-order method and the pre-made method. Both methods are great and have their own pros and cons; it just depends what format works best for your brand. Pre-Order vs Pre-Made both have their pros and cons so don't think 1 is the only way to do it. Pre-Order can be risky if not many people buy your product because then the cost to produce the clothing will be more expensive. Also, it could receive bad reviews for late shipping negatively affecting the chance of attracting future customers.

@@f4llenstarr it varies from person to person. Some people solely focus on clothing, while others such as myself, post about architecture, art, music along with (mainly) fashion. Basically it’s just an Instagram blog that is curated to the creators liking. If a curation page gets popular enough, they can start doing paid promotions for clothing brands.

For my first drop I’m doing pre made but I’m thinking I’m leaning more towards that bc I’m a photographer myself and I want to do campaign shoots for everything. Concept and all. I don’t want to just post a pic of a shirt with a white background like I see everywhere. Only thing that’s bad about that is at the beginning, pre order is so good to see how many people are interested. Pre made at first, kinda just guessing and what you can afford.

My idea for the pre-order mock-up step would be to get a DTG print for each design you have (or want to promote at least) and use that DTG print to take some on-body photos... like you could literally just get one DTG print of the graphic tee you want as the focus piece then use that single tee to create multiple photos of different people (or same person if you have no friends lol) wearing the tee in different locations or scenarios. Obviously you don't want to sell the DTG print as a final product but I think it could act well to take on-body pictures with

I can, but it’s super easy you just download the pack and drag them to your design software and then drag your graphics on top. It’s easier with illustrator because you can change every color of the mock ups by clicking on the shape, with Photoshop you have to manually change the colors, but included in the file pack is a link to a KZfaq video that shows you how to do it
