In this video I show the viewers how to install an environment using Anaconda Navigator that allows users to run R codes using the JupyterLab or Jupyter Notebook interface.
There are some important tips throughout the video that will help you save time if you run into trouble.

Hey, great and helpful video! The only problem I am having is after installing Jupyter on my new environment, it does not launch when I click to launch. Do you know how to fix this?

Hi, I hope that you have solved your problem by now. If not, try launching Jupyter from the anaconda terminal instead of the anaconda navigator. If that works, it could be a problem with the installation. You could uninstall JypyterLab and reinstall it. @@allisonsalazar927 Hi, you can open Anaconda Navigator, locate JupyterLab, click on the gear icon on the top right, and then click on remove application. I hope this is helpful.

Hello, thank you for this video ! The R kernel is recognized in the jupyterbook but it does not start. I have an error message telling me 'renv/activate.R' : No such file or directory. Thank you Nicolas

Hello Nico, please try the following: 1- When you open the Anaconda Navigator," click on "Environment" on the left panel and select an environment that has "R" installed. Then click the "Home" button and run Jupyter Notebook. 2- I would recommend that you use Jupyterlab. Isntall it if you have not done so. Again, make sure that you install it in the environment that support the "R kernel." 3- If this does not fix your problem, create a new environment from the anaconda navigator and see if that new environment fix your problem. Please view minute 8:24 and make sure that you are using the R kernel.

Why is it that software is so brittle these days? Download, anaconda, Check, Create new Environment, No good. Boatloads of compatibility errors on multiple machines. Package incompatibilities as far as the eye can see. Brittle Brittle Brittle.
