That was brilliant instructional. I learned from you more in a few minutes than form many sailors in a year. Thank you. BTW I'm not a slow sailor myself, but most of the time I sail in a flat waters.

Awesome video! Thank you I've been eyeing a Tandem for a while now. It looks like it rides drier with one person than would the single Island be in the same conditions. Cheers BB

Looking good. Thanks for the tips. Recommend adding a few more tips to squeeze some speed. Mirage Drive - in or out?, Mirage Cassette Plug in or out, Dagger board - up or down (depending on up wind vs. down wind). Down haul adjustments? Weight distribution - fore vs. aft, starboard vs. port (depending on tack). Tips for larger waves 5+feet - surfing the backsides. Love the TI .... just wish the sail configuration did a bit better pointing into the wind.... no boom hurts here.

No Mirage Drive in, centre board down upwind, centre board up off the breeze. This video is more about driving the boat not how I have mine setup.

Jim those are great tips, and as a windsurfer, that darn sail really sticks in my craw! Sadly, I need the furler for fishing, but oh yeah I have been dreaming of a proper 10 meter race foil complete with boom 😝....

I love this video, and others you've produced and shared. I know I shouldn't focus on this, but I shall regardless...what sort of camera are you using and how do you get the speed/distance/pitch/roll info to present on the screen?

Alistair, have you considered swapping to a higher performance fiberglass or carbon rudder? I’ve been thinking about using a 30” windsurfing fin, because it is a more efficient foil, should be easier to turn with better response and smoother feedback, plus it should develop a lot more lift.

re talking to the boat , what should one say ?... or have i missed the point ?

Say what ever you like, sailing is a but mystical and very superstitious, if I want to catch somebody I rub the boat and tell her to go get that one. Off we go.

The video and comments are great however trying to read the text was really difficult because of the colour and size.

i have about 400 miles on my ti and i still stress that the mast is going to break.... thats the only thing i dont like about this boat.

Hi Brandon, We put these things through 30 knots of wind and they just don't break. Furl the sail in for starters, he mast will bend a great deal but it is very strong. Check this out kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9ymoKuTzbXXcqc.html

Brandon, the mast is 2mm thick carbon, which is several times stronger than the same thickness of steel. The TI mast is 30%-40% thicker than my wave sailing mast, which is designed for really intense big waves - the TI mast ain’t going to break unless it gets stuck in a bridge or pier and gets bent over an edge (point loaded), or it gets seriously scratched. Heavy winds are more likely to take out the ama system or some of the various attachment screws.

Would have loved to read the advice to absorb it but it's not concise and it flashes away too quickly. Only way to read it is to pause and I pause the whole time. Might you just...... Talk to us?
