When you bring in a sample to chop what do you do with your tempo? Do you match your tempo to the song your sampling from every time?

Hey Courtney! Have you tried out the Audio plugin for Maschine that came out around December 2017 with the 2.7 update? I've just played around with it very recently on my Mikro MK3 (love it, BTW), and it can practically do the same thing you're doing in this video, only quicker! Just load a sample on the first pad, change the instrument (if on Sampler) to Audio, change from Loop to Gate mode, set pads to keyboard mode, and go! Such a game-changer for me! It'll work for Maschine samples out of the box, but for other samples (I.e., your own sample library,), you have to add the "Loops" tag so that Maschine will timestretch the sample properly. Let me know what you think! Have a good one; peace.

Hey, if it’s like, you can chop the sample while playing by hitting the empty pads, that’s exactly what i need, but i don’t know where to find that plugin. (I’m pretty much a begginer, i’m just trying to switch from Fl studio to maschine cause it works better with my Maschine mikro, and i want to be able to sample like in Serato sample)

Hi Courtney I convert my sample to internal, then audio to match the sample to bpm of my drums. I can't figure out how to slice after this could you possibly showcase how to match the bpm of your sample with your drums first then slice on to pads? Thank you

When in the Maschine 2 software load up your sample into one of the 16 pads (Group) > Make sure the sample is highlighted/selected > in between the “Voice Settings / Engine” and “FX / Filter” click “Pitch / Envelope” > Above “Type” you’ll most likely see something that says “One-Shot” > Simply click on that and change it to “ADSR” > Now when you play a chop it will only play when you hold down the pad (Do this on any chop/Sample you have on any of the 16 pads for the same effect) > Profit

I've heard the MK2 Mikro let's you chop samples (markers) on the hardware but MK3 only via software for now? People have said they would rather keep the MK2 for this reason but not sure if there has been any change to the software or firmware?

I never match the tempo but I always slice up my samples so I play them as chops instead of loops. If you’re looping a sample then yes you’re going to want to find the original bpm of the sample and then cut your loop on the correct beats. Once your loop is cut then you can mess around with time stretching it.

If anyone can shed light... What I am trying to do may not be possible... I sketch out all my guitar to a metronome via Logic Pro. What I then want to do is take that scratch track and import it into Maschine so I can sketch out the percussion/rhythm... I don't want to splice or sample or anything like that... I just want to be able to play the scratch track and experiment with building the beat. Am I up shits creek without a paddle? Is this just not possible? Thank you to anyone in advance - I am officially going insane trying to find a simple answer to this!

Nice tutorial girl! My question is, how do you match the samples bpm with your session bpm? Its a step that is missing in most tutorials and its one of the basics in sampling, i know how to do it in Ableton and in Mpc Software and they both have their different ways to do it, so idk how to here in Maschine. It’s a Mac specific problem, I can’t tell if you’re on Mac or not, but I would LOVE if you could tell me how you’re recording your program audio lol thanks so much!

+Courtney Hawkins Whenever I try and use Quicktime to record my screen, there isn't an audio option for desktop audio (the audio that the actual app is making). So for example, how you have the entire process of making the beat from start to finish where you are playing the sample in real time as you're recording it, I can't do that because there is no way for me to capture the audio that the Maschine software is making currently. I hope that all makes sense lol I'm going to give iShowU software a chance and see if that works, it's similar to SoundFlower but actually still works on mac, don't know if you have heard of either of those software add-ons either.

I use OBS and have a multi-output setup. And then in my audio interface option I select the multi-output that I set up.
