Best save I've ever seen is David seaman save against Sheffield United and he saved a header

Great video, I think the main difficulty with dropping back is with getting your weight transferred back forward when the header comes in. I've seen plenty of times that keepers let in tame headers because they get back on their line but they aren't set to make a save, particularly if they jump backwards towards their line rather than take several quick, deliberate steps back - I've definitely seen you point out the importance of taking steps rather than jumps in positional footwork in other videos but I think it would have been worth repeating here. I remember when Dean Henderson got in ahead of De Gea for a few weeks in 20/21 he had a few awful moments from crosses where he jumped 3 or 4 yards back to his line and then failed to deal with really tame headers as he couldn't move his feet. I think there was one against Sheffield United and the last minute equaliser against Milan at OT. He also made what should have been a routine save from Zlatan in the San Siro look difficult but his defenders bailed him out after he parried the ball into his own goalmouth.

Question for the community. I'm self taught because I couldn't afford a coach, but when I played for hs, I was told by the "goalie coach" that it's best to start near the back post with one foot on the inside of the goal and one foot on the outside of the goal line at the same angle gk goluremi shows. While it works for me to come attack the ball and whatnot, I don't see it implemented by other goalies most often and I'm wondering if my game got thrown off entirely because of it

Personally I just treat headers and deflections like pks… Eyes closed, hands out, and dive right.
