I grow dozens of alyssum plants because they're so beautiful and so hardy, but I've only grown them from cuttings and volunteers so far, all of which started with one mother plant! Now that I see how easy it is to collect the seeds, I'm going to do that over this winter. Thanks so much for sharing! 😊

Great sharing!! Thank you so much for taking the time to film this to help others! You have perfectly answered the questions I had ... I love the idea of using a sieve. I'm also going to try to first go outside with my hand held 'Dust Buster' vacuum cleaner to see if I can collect some seeds from the ground and off the plant without having to sacrifice my flowers / future seeds. How do I get the plant to grow these seed pods? It has been flowering for months and I have checked every day for seed pods, but find none. I really want to harvest these seeds to have them again next year but it’s October and still no seed pods!

The seed pods are tiny and might be hard to identify by a beginner. You can cut the dry flower stems and shake them off on a paper towel or in an enevelop so tiny specks of dust(seeds) would fall off. If no seeds at all, then it may be a hybrid variety not meant to produce seeds. Some gardeners prefer them because they can spread easily.
