Thank you for this. I have been searching for the details of removing/replacing the pin for quite some time now. Just by chance I found this 3 days after you uploaded it. This confirms this is an easy enough project to get the SBR process moving.

I've done a few of these and found it quite simple, at least for me since I have a TIG welder. I figured it out by noticing that the button wasn't allowed to be depressed enough to unlock the stock. Just separate button/pin from crossbar latch and adjust until latch is depressed enough allow stock to deploy. Then weld latch back onto button. Don't remember ever drill out that hole for button, though. Honestly, I can't believe the ATF allows these to be sold this way after I did my first one. I really should get one of these for myself to SBR cuz I think they are neat handy little guns and I like subguns too!

There's another KZfaqr that has a walkthrough like this and machines new push pins for the conversion. $50 shipped for a brand new in spec pin as opposed to buying a worthless cut up parts kits simply for one pin.

You still have to source a spring for the pin. The parts kit is worth it in my opinion, you get the more authentic trigger, sling, extra mags, mag pouch, spare bolt, guide spring, cleaning rod, and extra stock for about 70 bucks more. Three extra mags, trigger and sling were worth it to me alone. The guy who makes the pins is username Tula1940 LB

Great video I did two of these last year....I hope yours is holding up. On the parts kits you just need to Dremel with a sanding drum to get the original weld off the parts donor. Then put that on the New PPS43-C and Have someone or do it yourself one quick weld on the pin... of course have it depressed like you have it in your video using clamps. I tried it your way peening it and also used JB weld....after months of using it the pin failed on me. Great job and I hope yours is still holding strong so glad I came across this and have it bookmarked.

For educational purposes only (and without a legal discussion), can the PPS-43C upper assembly be installed on a FA lower from a parts kit? I'm assuming the upper has some sort of blocking bar welded in, but I haven't encountered a PPS-43C yet. I'm not building one, but I'm purely curious about the mechanical differences.

Mine is still holding up, but another commenter said they tried JB weld last year and it eventually failed. I was able to get my pin peened over enough that it seemed to hold without it and the JB weld was to keep it extra secure. I will keep an eye on it and if if eventually fails I’ll add a pinned comment on this video.

How could you remove the roll pin that hinges the top and bottom receiver together?

I didn't separate the top and bottom for this project. Since it hinges open pretty freely, I just had it out of the way while I did the work.

I’m trying to find a parts kit because i’ve noticed on some i’ve found the stock is still in its original state, but a lot of the kits are cut and i don’t have access to a welder. where’s a good a place online to find a kit?

I purchased the parts kit of centerfire systems. The actual pistols being imported by Pioneer Arms seem to have dried up with the recent buying sprees, but I expect they will be back in stock at some point and then you can find them at most major firearms websites.

There are parts kits out there. I bought one from center fire systems on sale for $100 and used those parts on the pistols that are for sale. I just checked and they are still in stock for $130. They come with some magazines, which is nice.

@@redshield2423 I am 95% certain that the kit would work, because I'm fairly certain the only real difference is the barrel. I'm pretty sure the 9mm uses the same magazines and everything.

How solid (ie, no wobble) is the stock?

I think it’s a solid lockup. I’ve done some shooting with it and didn’t have any issues. It’s based on the MP-40 design so you know it’s good since they stole it.

Stocks of this type, including those on the original MP-40's, will eventually wobble no matter what. It's just part of the design. Luckily, it's all just stamped metal and it isn't hard to tune when it finally does come loose.

To expand the hole on the top cover, I drilled all the way through because you have to enlarge it. You have to cut all the way through the pin the manufacturer put in place that immobilized it first.

Awesome tutorial, thanks, just got my stamp. But seriously, regulating sbr, suppressors, short barrel shotguns, is insane. Of course we are going to fill out the form 1, pay the $200, wait and wait, get them engraved, all of it, to put a stock on a gun. And I’m sure most like my carried a pack of copies of all your stamps in your range bag, glove box of ever vehicle, in every safe, and masters in a safe in a safe. Why? BECAUSE WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS AND FOLLOW THE LAWS, NO MATTER HOW STUPID THEY ARE!! So Washington, why don’t you disband the ATF, they are worthless, take all the resources bothering us, and redirect it all to actually make our counties cities safe. If your worried about machine guns, stop hunting law abiding citizens, and go catch the actual domestic terrorists with there Glock switches in Chicago and Baltimore. These criminals actually kill 100s ever week. But yeah, much safer pushing paper and selling stamps to us for our gun mufflers….. You can’t make it up, it’s like they want us disarmed or something and don’t actually care about real crime……. ✝️✝️✝️🙏🙏🙏

It only took me a little over a month to get it. I did file it electronically which I think sped it up.

This is actually still illegal, because now that it's a rifle and all the parts are Polish, it's not 922r compliant at all even if it's a legal SBR.
