An Apple expert shows you how to scan a QR code on your iPhone! A QR code is one type of matrix bar code you can scan using the Camera on your iPhone. When you scan the code, you receive a notification on your iPhone that typically sends you to a specific webpage.

I didn't have Safari pop up automatic on my camera like you, but you breezed right past it. iPhone 8 camera isn't listed under notifications... so now what?

Can an iphone (7) QR scanner operate at a distance. i.e in a movie theatre can a code be scanned by audience from the screen? Does the projected QR code have to be a minimum size. Thanks

Yes, you have to tell the phone that it is ok to use the camera to read a QR Code.

This is a real problem as in france-all train tickets are swiped using QR codes. NONE worked with my iphone 6s! Luckily, staff let me through.

I guess the only thing you can do is get another device and scan it with your phone. I wish Apple would let us scan QR codes from photos. :’)

You went all the way to Ireland to scan a qr code, that didn't work because the website was down...are you nuts!!? And whats with proclaiming that having to read a paragraph of information is boring??
