Thanks. My Nest kept change the temp to 75 and this was a reminder for setting up temps plus knowing how it works. Understanding the time with less temps helped a lot.

I just got my nest. Your video is awesome. My question is, can I set a time off for specific time. (ie: cool 70 degrees from 11am -8pm ) But, at 8pm I want Nest to turn off since at night the outside temp drops pretty good/comfortable in SoCal…. Thanks !

Thanks this is a great help. I'm away from home and every time I check the app the heat keeps going back to the original scheduled. I delete it but the next day it's back. I want to keep the heat set at 50 degrees. If I put it at 50 in and copy it for the week will it stay there?

How do I add in the temperature sensors for different rooms into the schedule? For example at 10 pm I want the bedroom to be 68 and at 7 am I want the living room to be at 72

Hi, I want to heating work on timings for an example 7-8 PM, 10-11PM and then 4-6AM can this be doable without the temperature being set to certain degree? I just need times from this to that rather than temperature to be set.

If I set up the temperature using manual schedule at 75F starting at 8: AM to 5:00 PM, that mean the house temperature will stay at 75F. Will the A/C stay on the whole day? Is there and AUTO option like the regular thermostat?

have you tested this? I set one temp at 73 at 8am and then 69 at 11pm. My AC stopped turning on and my house got up to 81 by 4pm.

Were you home then? Because Eco mode will turn on if you leave if you have it on, and it will only get to the set temperature later...

Have a question.: If I manually set my time at 10pm to 78F. And 11:30 pm to 65F. So my question is, will it slower down the radiator to reach 65F earlier then 11:45? Or it will run full speed until 11:45 and then slow down to stop. Anybody can help me out..

My thermostat won’t turn on at 5:30 a.m. when I set it in the schedule. Instead, when I set it for 5:30 AM it turns on at 5:45 a.m.. I tried setting in at 5:15 a.m. figuring that it would then go on at 5:30 a.m. Instead it went on at 5:15 a.m. I don’t understand why this is happening.

So my questions are as follows: 1. I've set a schedule to come on and it was well over the room temperature but the thermostat didn't come on? 2. What happens after the time has passed, how do I set it to go off? 3. I've had it 1 year now and the auto schedule has not set up anytimes for me should I have expected this? It would seem you cannot ask the Nest to stop heating only start heating. This is so over complicated.

Nest Thermostat (3rd Gen): When scheduling, how do I have it be at 72 degrees from 8am to 9am, and off for the other 23 hours of each day?

set the temp to something it wont reach, so it wont trigger anything to switch on. if i want the heating to be off over night, i would schedule lowest temp for 10:30pm and then something warm for the morning. in your example if this is about heat, i would choose 72 for 8am, then 9am would be lowest temp so it wont make heating go on.

This is a terrible device. How do you set it to just turn on and off at a specific time? It looks like your encouraged to set the heating to be on longer just to achieve target temperature. Useless if you want to stick to a budget on your bill.
