This is a great explanation. One of the best tutorials ive come across. Here take my subscription lol Im terrible with corners and headers. How do you make sure to time the jump and header correctly? And even worse, how do i defend headers? Thank you again.

So I have timed finishing on essentially meaning you can power up the header whenever you want just so long as you hit the shoot button again as they head it. As for defending them you have to try and anticipate where you opponent is going to cross it and try and get your best header of ball in that position, I have multiple good headers to help with this

Great video mate and outstanding breakdown of the entire process, much appreciated. I definitely need a bit of practice to get it nailed and not quite getting it as well as you show in the video but sure it'll be great o ce I put a bit of time in. Can I just ask please, is there a way to get the main aerial threat to appear at the front post like how your Cahill does in the clip? I have both VVD (Main aerial threat) and Blanc in my team but VVD always by default stands at the far side of the box. I also have Pirlo who has the deadball+ play style so I plan to use him along with VVD in the box. Finding Pirlo's set piece arc / crossing line though a bit of a struggle as it's by default so high and long. Should I be messing about with this too much with height or distance before hitting the kick? Thanks mate

So since making this video I now know attack positioning also comes into the calculation which will be why Blanc will be ahead of VVD sadly, I noticed this when Rush was still ahead of Vidic once I got him, as for the cross I don't touch it at all the quicker you take the slower they can react

TBH I think they've definitely silently patched heading in one of the last 2 patches, they don't go in as consistently (particularly in offline gamemodes) apart from with players with power header + that seems to be the key ATM

hi - do you pick the player - like mark it for the header or just kick the corner to his area?

Kick it to the area, that's why having someone with either high freekick stat or dead ball play style is so important

But genuinely GK movement is important but don't leave the goal vulnerable, if they're trying my tactic just move the original man marking the front post with them, if they then choose to pass it you're fine, if they're using 2,3,4 or 5 just move your gk out a bit and manually mark their biggest player with your best one

How do you call the player and then cancel so they stay in the box? If I press R1 he just runs all the way to the corner post?

Just about speed, you can't stop them but if you take it quickly they'll lock onto the ball, you take too long they'll come too short

L2 R2 means the player will always head the ball

How do you do score from corners in Player Career. I have dead ball+ but I find it hard to score on corners with my teams

Playing offline I find it's actually better to just leave the corner tactics on 3 and just cross it with 3 bars of power since your best header is usually the one nearest the gk and normally they just win it and score, obviously depends who you are playing against but I that's what I find easiest. Unless you try by handball tactics from my controller video 😂

I have witsel who has Ariel+ but Hugo Sanchez who has acrobatic+ id rather Witsel be the front man, is there any way to change that around as Sanchez is useless from corners

Sadly not, the thing I didn't realise until after I posted this video is attack positioning also contributes so it'll always put short sts with good heading in front of tall defenders

Is there a way to change the player at the front post ? I have Dumfries with 99 Jumping and 87 H/A, but no Aerial or Power Header playstyle, as well as VVD with 89 Jumping, 86 H/A but Power Header and Aerial+ ?

There's no way of manual changing the player at the front post, it will always be the player with the best combination of jumping heading accuracy and attack positioning so your only way of manipulating that is with chem styles

The issue with manually chosing Van Dijk is they'll then know you're crossing it to him, the whole purpose of instigating the run short is to create that space so try it but I think you'll be more successful with Dumfries

In swinger don't even need to move it at all, out swinger move it closer to the goal or even as far as it let's you

Assuming you've not changed any of the button bindings (I have for defending) then that should force them to head it

@@stelad2361 I meant that I literally have the buttons different, I use a different button for tackle. So I was seeing if perhaps maybe you'd changed the triggers or something. If you haven't I see no reason why it isn't working
