Though I use Plastisol Heat Transfers, you definitely showed me how to cut the tag, just cutting it on an angle makes a difference. I was at times putting holes in the shirt. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks Mike!
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 жыл бұрын
Any time! Yeah, it takes some messing up to learn how to get it close enough, even with doing it at an angle, how to not put holes in shirts. You'll also get the feel of the scissors having a little more resistance when accidentally cutting into the shirt, in which you'll learn to stop and reposition the placement of the scissors to stop putting a hole into the shirt.

Thanks for sharing . The way I do it is in a similar pallet ; Although , I don't flip over the shirt is lot waste of time in long runs and I use water base ink any color . I just catalyzed the ink and I don't even have to send the shirt to the drier at that point . That way is very fast in long runs . I can tag 100 shirts in 30 minutes without flipping over the shirt and send the tee to the drier since the ink is catalyzed and Water base there's no problem for sticking the ink on the garment and when the shirt is on the process of the actual front print and sent to the drier the tag only needs very few amount of heat and dry totally . I recommended . Greetings from NYC ! Great videos !

Use a gray ink for most shirt colors. Avoid using dark inks on light shirts. Don't mash the ink through the shirts, but let it sit on top. This may require using a lighter print stroke, so the screen / ink / squeegee are just kissing the shirt. Try a 156-200 mesh, You can also reduce down your ink. because it doesn't need to be super opaque. A vintage looking print will work fine here.

@mikeydesignssilkscreen473

Nope. Not at all. Depending on what level you are at with your clothing brand, you should include where the shirt was made, printed, and if it's for children, ink and shirt batch numbers.

O man great quality control but damn I would have to double my tag prices if I was to do it your way =D. I feel like most customers would prefer the cheaper price point since it’s just a tag. But that’s just my experience so far. I’ve never had a customer complain yet.

I hear that! These tag prints go really fast. In most of my tutorials I'm just taking my time to explain things. Time for some real time production videos? A couple weeks ago I posted a video of me running the auto and screen printing on the little manual at the same time. :)

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 yeah I know it goes much faster once you get going but you still have to flip those shirts inside out and then back. Do you charge an extra fee for removing sewn in lables vs tear away?

@@danielmullins572 Not when you have a second hand doing all the flip, folding, and tag removal. ;) We just do that method, flipping the shirts inside out, for smaller runs. We use what is the normal method, print them right side up without flipping them inside out, for larger runs. 36 and above. We don't charge more. We make it part of our pricing. Only takes a few seconds when you get in rhythm. mikeydesigns.com/screen-printing-pricing/

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 thanks for the reply brother. That's a smart way of doing it. I've been charging a flat 75-50 cents per tag. Bit since you charge more for less qty that makes it worth the extra effort. Plus a happier customer. I may implement that system at some point.

There is another way to printed ... If you burn the image facing your way Close to you .. it’ll be easier to load the shirt up And won’t have to put it all the time ay in. If you turn them inside out it’ll be easier but too much time at the end to turn them normal

Custom Ink out sources to their contract printers closest to the customer. Also flipping inside out takes too much time and extra labor, try flipping shirts for long runs, it sucks!!! If you print clear first the print wont come through the shirt.
