Great video once again Justin. Perhaps a silly question but I have a 32" Monitor and of course don't want record the whole screen. However, this is where I get confused! How do you know what ration to record a selected area on my screen for KZfaq? Secondly, how do I go about recording this area? Would it be better to simply use my MacBook Air ?

I have followed these instructions, but to no avail. Now I cannot get playback on my computer at all. Have these instructions been tested with Mac M1s running Sonoma 14.4.1? I cannot even find Blackhole in order to uninstall it. Help please! Thanks.

If I record my screen with any of this softwares, is it possible to export and import into final cut or premiere to have more control over the editing? I’m wondering over the workflow as I really want to edit in those more advanced to be able to work more with color grading, transitions etc. What software would you recommend for this? Not sure about the best workflow for this and am greatful for your input! Thanks for the video!

QUESTION: I am using: -- Rode NT USB Mini mic with headphone port in the back -- Logitech Brio 4K Camera. -- MEE audio M6 Sport Wired Earbuds, Noise Isolating In-Ear Headphones I joined a Zoom session on my MacBook Pro 2021 with the MEE connected (3.5mm to 3.5mm). I recorded the Zoom Meeting with QT (New Screen Recording), and when I played back the recorded video, my choice was the only sound. I know that if I disconnect the headphones, I will hear the voices of the Zoom Participants. What am I doing wrong?

Tried the built-in recording option, when I hit record the video stream area turns black & doesn’t record. Noticed you only record your desktop, not streaming content. BTW anything other than the stream DOES record (dock, desktop, menu bar).Am I doing something wrong? Thanks-

You can always convert mono audio back to stereo in a lot of editing programs if needed Justin.

Thanks, I’m a full-time recording engineer and with those programs you mentioned I can take a mono file and have it playback in both left and right channels, but it’s still only dual mono which means we are still in mono. Meaning, if it’s captured in mono, there’s no way to make it stereo like the original. Just dual mono . Have you found a way to successfully capture stereo music in your process?

Vmaker screen recorder is my go-to tool to record all my videos. it has a Chrome plugin and a Mac version. both have feature differences but good to go.

It also totally freezes up my Mac. I could not get to force quit the mouse quit responding. I had to just hard quit to get the QuickTime app to stop.

This doesn't work well on the Mac Studio with a Studio Display. Also, after removing the demo copy, I changed the output back to the Studio Display speakers and they did not get reset properly. So, I had to reboot and also shut down, and then make the appropriate changes again in the System settings to make the Studio Displays work. Performance is kind of slow too. ScreenFlow, another Mac screen recorder, is much better.

But how do you screen record in HDR is the question?? OBS has some setting but you can't change the "scene" to the right color space like you can on Windows so the HDR looks completely off on Mac.

Screen recording on MacOs is ridiculous tbh. The iPad has a native one recorder that can get audio from internal and external, MacBooks doesn’t without extra steps. There doesn’t appear to be a simple cheap app to do this also.

DemoCreator is just awful. The UI makes no sense. Their UI is so big it takes up 1/4 of your screen. The adjustable purple capture frame will be half on-screen and half off and there's no way to adjust it. Terrible experience.

Your 'advice' is totally useless. Quicktime is a peezacrap for screen record ... no audio or even pause. Down-voted your presentation. All you 'screen-record-experts' know nothing of the uselessness of Quicktime and offer no alternatives which work.
