It’s funny that this is necessary but thanks so much for figuring this out! I haven’t had time to try it yet, but it seemed like both my phone and my computer just weren’t capable of getting back that far… I have a roughly 8 year message thread with my late wife and really want to see it from the start, so fingers crossed!

Got back to November 2017 on my M2 Macbook air and it couldn't print and then crashed. Just too much data I think... It took about 3 hours to get there and then... yeah... disappointing, but it's a really. nice idea!

@@benjacksonnfunny, thanks for asking! I did figure it out! I had to sit heavy things on the function and up arrow for about 5 hours. So silly… but it worked. And was very nice to run through over a few weeks. Screen shotted the best bits!

icloud messages on for mac desk top and on for iphone 13pro. both on same internet. However the sync now tab on m,ac is there but not clickable. Please help

Is there any way to do this if you have an iphone and a pc laptop? I don’t have a mac. My current issue is that i have an iphone se ios 16.1 and when i try to read old txts after just a couple seconds it jumps to the bottom (to current date/time msgs). Thanks. Yes it is 2023 and i am on iph se. I was on iph 6 up until a few months ago.

Page up short cut doesn't work for on messages (iMac M1 and small Apple keyboard, standard config)
