When I was a carpet layer I learned quick if your dealing with Berber just stop and throw the berber away..It was so pushed in the late 80s and 90s. Its crap. They pushed it as a carpet that would be tough and last forever, nah.

What setting do you put the heat gun on I found the glue getting stuck to the gun instead of the floor..

Eve, the temp on the iron depends on how fast you can burn the seam! Straight seam, pattern match, and other factors! The seam is the most important part! Don't rush it! I never go above 3 ! If your glue is turning brown,, it's to hot! If its cheaper rug ( thin) 2 and let the glue melt! As far as not seeing glue on the tape as your moving the iron,,, its usually cheap tape,, not enough glue on the tape. Lift or take a little pressure off the iron when sliding it. Are you pressing it down? Hope this helps!

I had a berber carpet laid by Home Depot contractors and they made an absolute mess of the carpet. Did nothing like what was shown here.

Home Depot uses a work room for carpet installation. They will hire anyone and not precheck their work! They don't want to pay either! You should have a 1yr warranty on labor! Any questions, you can hit me up if you'd like . Good day.

Exactly what is the point showing a 'how to' video, using all the professional tools that your average DIY'er would never have. And if you are a professional, I'm pretty certain this is something you really dont need to be taught. How about you do one of these videos directed towards the average guy at home
@joshautry6104 жыл бұрын
you would not be doing this at home as your average guy at home, you need to use similar tools in order to correctly install or seam the carpet. Im pretty sure the point of this guy showing a how to video is to show how to do said task. This is a great video, take me for example. my father was a professional flooring installer and had his own business. I worked most of my younger years with my dad installing floor. I cant remember every single step and tool my dad taught me to use back then, so this video is awesome refresher on wehat exactly i need to do and when, and what exactly i need to use in order to seam a rug. What exactly is the point of posting a comment like you posted? are you jealous you cant seam a rug? or cant afford a 20 dollar tool maybe so you post this out of spite? haha i tell ya some people.... THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO CRAZYCUNNER, much appreciated

The average do it your self guy has no idea how to install tackles carpet. A professional such as this Installer makes it look easy. If I were to guess He has been doing it about 5 years.
