Okay, I have a monster txt file of my life journal that was exported as text from the native application. This thing has almost two million words and is 20 years of journalling carried over from old paper files to Wordperfect, then Word, then a notebook application, then to a proper Journal software product that decided to go to the subscription model. I can open it in Pages but the problem is that every line has come across with a carriage return at the end of it! How can I do a search and replace for a carriage return?

Yes that is something you can do in TextEdit! I do actually explain it in this video... you need to essentially highlight / select the carriage return then copy it with command-c and paste into the search replace "Find" field. Leave the "replace" field blank so you are replacing the copy pasted carriage return with "nothing". I can help with this in a paid consult as well. No, because you can't use Safari to edit web page text. Or did you mean in a form in Safari? I don't think you can...
