How do you respond to the common wisdom that "you don't put anything on good ice cream", or in this case, steak? I've always found that while seasoning is great on lower quality of meat, when I make the expenditure for higher quality of meat I typically find that salt alone is all I need. Although on the topic of steak and eggs, I find a pepper garlic salt mix on the eggs really makes them pop, but even then it's applied post cooking rather then before.
