Totally depends on what you're willing to get for it. Limit's great if you have a minimum price, market is great just to offload right away. - this is not meant to be financial advice

Let’s say you bought 2 shares in a company. At that time, it was going for $20 1 week later the stock increases to $25 When you sell the 2 shares @ market value will u be getting $50 back in your account? ** I just want to make sure i’m understanding this correctly

If they're all worth the same at the specific moment, doesn't really matter when selling for cost-basis.

Just the video I need, thanks! I've done specific share trading before but the platform changed and I couldn't find it.. FYI the information you have to share is so much more important than listening to the music. I had to back up several times to catch what you said because the music is drowning you out. 😕

How do i ( TRANSFER ) the money into my account ... The stocks have sold , and i can buy more stocks with that money , BUT i want it to PUT it in the BANK now .. HOW ? does it take a few days to log that info ? or ???

Not professional financial advice or anything, but usually for us, if it's a brokerage account and we're transferring money out to a different bank account, it'll take a couple of days. If it's to a fidelity cash management, it'll happen instantly.

@@NguyeningLifestyles what if we transfer money from our bank account into our fidelity account then change our mind about buying stocks. If we transfer it back to our bank account without buying any stocks will that money affect our taxes?

@@mamadoom9724 not a tax professional/financial advice, but if it's to a regular taxable, there's no tax problems, if it's transferred into a traditional and pulled out there may be some penalties, if it's to a Roth and pulled out, since it's the same amount as the contributions, no tax issues. But long story short, it depends on your specific scenario and where you're trading it to/from so should definitely have a tax professional or even contact fidelity about the specifics

Whenever I try to go to the trade page it redirects me to open an account and then forwards me to work place services. I’m lost I’m just trying to sell the stocks I was buying through work with my paycheck

That Stock at $26.... could you have just taken a loss, set a limit order to sell at 5-cents below so if it dropped you'd simply cut your losses and use the pullout money on a new stock you've done more research on?

I can’t sell out of a position I transferred 5k and it clearly says I have 45 shares but it says I can’t complete that order because I own 0.0045 shares

Hi, let’s say I wanna sell a stock that I bought at $20 and I would like to sell at 25 and collect $5 profit and on the same time I wanna protect my self and sell at $19 and cut loss . You should be able to see it on your portfolio summary where you see all your positions. If you scroll over, it should show you today’s gains/losses as well as total gains/losses

Great Video. Question though. What if you purchased at $15.00 Now the Stock is $30.00. and you want to sell IF the stock goes back down. You want to sell at $20.00 so you still make a profit, is there a way to set that?

Thank you! Not providing advice, but I usually do this with a limit order. Stop limit orders also help to control the price it gets sold at if it crosses a specific limit.

A Roth IRA is essentially just a regular brokerage account but has special restrictions about when/how you take out money and how that money is taxed. Check out our video on a Roth and it may make more sense! But you can day trade in there, just be wary of the minimum to trade without restrictions.

You're not taxed right away, but you'll get a 1099 at the end of the year if you do owe any taxes - but it's best to talk to an accountant for specifics. - this is not meant to be financial advice.

Does Fidelity charge a commission fee to sell shares?

They say they don't have a commissions fee on their website. But when you sell they charge about a penny for every $1,000. You can find this info in their fine print.

What I want to know can you buy and sell the same day? Or are there restriction on the amount of time you have to hold?
