In this video I teach my friend Paul how to sell books on Amazon in 2021 at our local Savers thrift store. If you want to learn how to make money on Amazon scanning books on Amazon FBA this video will show you a REAL LIFE example of how it's done. This video was recorded at our local Connecticut Thrifting Meet Up so we didn't find many profitable books due to the competition but all together it was still a great learning experience. Hopefully you enjoy!

Excellent video for beginners. I was teaching my husband about books and your step by step is soooo needed. When you are use to doing this, you assume details and you covered most everything. The hard part is deciding on the beep which tells you to buy it vs. the keepa chart that says it hasn't sold much.... We came across a Bible that cost $14 and had sales at $240-450 with good rank and no primes for that year but newer years had $24 Prime but keepa charts said it had few sales. It was hard to know if you should keep it or put it back....You do awesome videos...

Thanks for watching! I am glad you are finding the information useful. It can definitely be hard trying to figure out which one to go by. If you only find info on specific years, I would try to go by the lowest one to be safe. Some books only have value if they are from a specific year, or edition. If keepa says that specific year has low sales, it probably does.

I have one question: Your videos or any other videos on the topic of selling books on Amazon do not address this one question: What happens to books that do not sell? For example, if I send Amazon 10 books and after a long period of time, only 8 sell what happens to the other 2 books?

I'm confused why you would lose money on some books. If you pay $4 and the lowest selling right now is $9.99 and others are selling at say $50, and they are selling fast, why not just wait for the cheap one to sell and then send it in? Or, if there is only one cheap one, send it in anyway and price it as the other higher ones are and won't it eventually sell? What am I missing?

Nearly all the big thrifts are moving toward intentionally pricing books to eliminate any profits for sellers. The sellers who continue to grab up a lot of these books are the ones who love flipping books for a few nickels or dimes of profit.

Hi. I am a novice at Amazon and started selling books (mainly used) because I read a lot myself so this is my passion in a way. I stock up on books at Charity shops and book stores, sometimes I get a lot of books for free from people who want to discard these books anyway. I always have a purchase receipt or invoice but e.g. when I buy 50-100 books at one time in a Charity Shop or book store, they usually issue a classic receipt or invoice where the final purchase price is. There are no individual books on the invoice. My question should I have professional invoices where each book (even if I buy 200 different books at once) is marked on this receipt? And should I upload invoices every time a customer buys a book despite selling it in the FBA system? Thank you for your help in advance and I apologize if this question repeats. :)
@Raikenprofit
@Raikenprofit 4 жыл бұрын
You can certainly do an individual book break down if each book is a certain price, but if you are buying bulk you should be perfectly fine wigth a final receipt from the store. Just make sure you keep up with it for your records!

Would you suggest fba or the fbm for used books? Does the buybox always go to fba sellers with books?
@Raikenprofit

I prefer FBA. It's simple and quick! It won't always go to them. You can look up buy box info and find out way to ensure you get it!

I love all these bovines doing the scanning in the stores. The days of this are way over. The stores get it and price accordingly and people that really know what they're doing do not buy for FBA. Too much competition. But the bovines lap this get rich quick stuff up. Good for me because it leaves the actually sellable stuff for me.

If there is no bar code accessible to scan will the Bluetooth scanner pick up ISBN’s also or do I have to switch apps for that?

Haha, the look of fear grows as the video progresses. I couldn't watch anymore after y'all started trading earwax. Sorry for any flippancy in my attitude. I ain't been in the scanning game in 10 years and this just reaffirmed my gratitude for that fact.

Thank you for the video Steve! I ordered my nanamoo but got confused on how to set it up so I haven't used it yet lol. I'm like momma profits with technology. I also signed up for Scout IQ but haven't used it yet either. This video is very helpful so thank you so much!

How to set up has. Even my barrier to, Steve, maybe you could do a Set up for dummies of different apps.go slow and assume we know nothing because older people didn’t grow up with technology. Sometimes you zoom through when we need to go 2 miles per hour. ‘ you are a blessing with a good heart. Thank you😇

I appreciate the videos, but I keep hearing people say the amazon sellers app is free, but it just keeps telling me to make an account and pay $40 per month. Is there something I am missing here?
@Raikenprofit

You do have to have an account to use it, but the app itself is a free tool.

Hi, I googled and came across this cool, sincere video and subscribed. Thank you for making it. Our case is a little different. We have a rather enormous library in our house. (Wall mounted, high ceiling, a sliding ladder, big room and in other places, not mentioning the garage in boxes). I would guess 3-4K books... Some are old 1950's anthropology, sociology, history... books. And a lot of cookbooks. We have to resize. I want to sell online if possible... amazon warehouse type perhaps? Any good suggestion will be truly appreciated. We are in L.A. basin. Thank you..

It's pretty much the same you're going to scan what you can and research what you can if you can't scan it. FBM may be the way to go with some of the higher dollar finds and a bunch can go to a warehouse FBA! If you need any help send an email raikenprofit@gmail.com
