Thanks for the shout out! Ace Stock Options has hit the ground running since inception and most recently hit a record day closing collectively over 30k in profits averaging over 35% return of investment per month. Most importantly, ASO is focused on creating a community focused on learning, sharing ideas/news, and technical analysis. I encourage anyone that wishes to check it out use discord.gg/Kw2t63W and mention "Think Money" for a sneak peek behind the scenes with the team. Benny, see you tonight during our Wednesday Night Owl Session at 9:30.

IF the covered call drops dramatically BELOW the Strike price... if there any negative for us?
@ThinkMoneyBenny

the negative would be that you would lose value on your shares in the short term, but the positive is that you can buy back those contracts for less than what you sold it for. That’s a way to profit.

Great video Benny, I am new to buying covered calls on Fidelity. Is there a way I could ask you a question about the process. I just bought my first contract about 2 weeks ago. My question is around if you are worried about the stock increasing a lot, how do you get out of the contract. Scott
@ThinkMoneyBenny
@ThinkMoneyBenny 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott, thanks for stopping by the channel. When we’re talking about covered calls, we are SELLING a covered call. not “buying a call,” ..buying is completely different so be careful with that distinction. So after you SELL a covered call, you can exit the position by “Buying to Close”

@@ThinkMoneyBenny @Think Money Here is what I did, I don't mind sharing it with you. The stock is ENG and I obviously own 100 shares of the company. I did a sell to open, strike price is $5.00 with a June 18 expiry. The stock is trading at 7.04 today, 2/1, so I am worried that the stock might be say $12 a share by June 18. I love the stock and don't want to lose the 100 shares. Once again, I am brand new to this and I hope I didn't screw up my first contract. I collected $489 premium and it was deposited in my account as you went over in your video. Sorry to sound stupid.

I've used paper trading on TD Ameritrade Thinkorswim and I get the options filled, but I have no clue what to do after you fill the order. I want to use puts to buy my 100 shares so I can make a little extra money for placing the order. Well, when I get filled I'm not sure how to turn the put into 100 shares. I'm considering switch my entire savings and checking to a Fidelity checking account that I can use to trade with. Been trading for about 4 months now and I'm trying to get into covered calls and puts but the Thinkorswim platform is starting to piss me off. lol Everyone makes videos on how to buy and sell the options but I'm wanting to buy 100 to 500 shares buy using puts instead of just buying them from active trader. Just frustrating the hell out of me. I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later. Thanks for this video. Was looking for something like this to help me decide if I want to switch. Thanks, this is very helpful. However, I did my first covered call yesterday on ABEO and it appeared red (as in losing money) on my "Positions" tab despite the ABEO price being higher than when I initially purchased it. Why is that? Is it that it's calculating the missed opportunity of being able to sell the covered call at a higher premium? Any help would be much appreciated.
@ThinkMoneyBenny
@ThinkMoneyBenny 3 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly right, its just calculating the current value of the contract at the present time. The premium will always fluctuate. The closer you get to expiration, the more likely you will see the contract become less valuable, assuming the stock doesn’t go past your strike.

Are your covered calls in the money or out if the money when your write them? I.e. do you write them at a strike price above the current price or below it?
@ThinkMoneyBenny
@ThinkMoneyBenny 3 жыл бұрын
Out of the money, at a strike above my average price, i always take into account whether I really want to get called away and take more premium for that or if I don’t really want to get called away & take less premium... it all depends

might be a dumb question, but you own the 100 shares right? so if it hits 42 you get your profit plus the premium, and it doesn’t hit 42 you just get the premium and hod the 100 shares?

@ThinkMoneyBenny
@ThinkMoneyBenny 4 жыл бұрын
You have two choices, you can let the contract expire on its own & collect all of the premium.... or if you want to close out early for whatever reason ( lets say you are up over 50% on the position ) you can close out early “ buy to close” ..... here you buy back the option at the price it’s worth , so you will be giving back some of that premium that u collected.

@ThinkMoneyBenny
@ThinkMoneyBenny 4 жыл бұрын
TOMAS MARTINEZ yes that’s right, i would buy to close if your stock goes down a bunch, which would make the covered call you sold almost worthless. Lets use my example, i sold a covered call at $42 1 month out, but lets say the stock went low to like $38 ... then i would buy to close and collect most of the premium. That way u dont waste time waiting a month & dont risk the stock going back up... i hope that makes sense.
