Thank you for this video. It was easy and quick to follow. What is the cancellation fee? Why does it matter which account funds are e-transferred from?

You'll have to contact TD. I don't know if cancellation fees are specific to accounts so yours may be different from mine for example. However which account you draw from does matter because some banks charge you more to e-transfer from your savings account than from your chequing. You'll have to contact them to find out which is best for you.

Now I would like to know how to do an Interac e-Transfer from my TD chequing account to a Savings Account I have at a Credit Union. Which is a totally different bank from TD. Is this possible? Would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. It's possible to do an etransfer this way. If you have the same email address for both, you simply send an etransfer from your td bank account to you, then when you get the email, you choose credit union to deposit. YOu might need to turn off automatic deposit if you have that setup on the TD side.

I did the e transferr but it didn't ask the security question it just asked for the email and phone number was optional but now neither of us have this money and there's no confirmation email but the money isn't in my account does that mean the other person still received it since the money was removed???

Great question. These days the banks have a TON of security features to make sure no one gets into our bank accounts. If it is asking for a security question every time you do it, you might be using the internet in Incognito mode or you may have it set up so it doesn't save passwords. That's why it is asking because it doesn't recognize your computer.

Your bank and his bank communicate essentially. The primary email addresses that are connected to both accounts, are how one bank digitally talks to another. If, for example, your friend sent you a different email address that wasn't connected to his bank account, your bank would most likely warn you and return the money to you. But this is all why you have to be careful, and make sure you have the correct email address. It's also good to contact the person afterwards and ask, "Did you get it?" Because if they didn't, the first 24 hours are the most important to contact that bank and get it resolved.

Yes , but you will pay a cancellation fee after 30 minutes.

What I don't understand is why we add the email of the recipient and not the bank account? how will my bank know what bank account my money needs to go?

The person receiving the money needs to also have online banking and will also have an email address that is linked to their bank account. That's how the banks know. It's through the email accounts linked to the online bank account.

I can't speak for TD, but they would have some version of a record of the email you sent it to. They shouldn't have any more information other than the person's email address.

Always transfer from any savings account to checking accounts to spend money as spending from your savings accounts cost money but not from your checking.and transfers between accounts don';t. Check with your bank.

What a hassle I will never have on-line Banking it's one way that if you get hacked all your banking information will stolen that's why we have credit card it faster safer way of doing business and cost money to use your on-line banking.I'll start doing business when you guys start using credit cards there safer and your insured that you won't get Rip-off
