In this video, I’ll show you how to send mass messages in iOS 14, to as many people as you like. Using this formula, each message is sent as a seperate individual personalised message, in its own message thread.
Sent messages using the Mass Message Siri Shortcut, are formatted as follows:
Hey [first name]! [inputted message]

Hey, I edited your shortcut to send videos, however, it requires me to hit send for every contact after the Shortcut is run. Do you know a way around this?

What counts as abusing the shortcut? Adding too many people? Or using it too many times?

Hey Peter! I have a question for you, how can you edit the contacts? I want to use this for groups, but my only problem now is if we have one contact that changes their info or a member of the team leaves, that is an issue I forsee.

Hi Hari 👋😊 Thanks for reaching out! The solution varies depending on what version of iOS you’re using. In iOS 14, you can simply edit the Mass Message list, similar to how iOS handles the recipients list in Messages and Mail. In iOS 15, you can tap on a user’s name within the Mass Message list, to replace it; or tap and hold on a user’s name, then tap clear, to clear the entire Mass Message list. Editing a user’s contact details, theoretically, should be a simple as editing their contact card within the Contacts or Phone app, though you may need to re-add them to the Mass Message list, for the changes to take effect.

Anyone have any luck finding a way to manually input numbers not in contact or a list? I see that iPad and IPhone allows me to send message to any recipient even if not in contact or group list. However my MacBook Air only allows me to send to existing contacts. Anyway around this via the MacBook Air laptop?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible with the current implementation, but if you know what you’re doing, you could probably tinker with it to achieve that. If this is a feature a lot of people want, I might work on implementing that as an option, sometime in the future.
