Given there aren't many places to go right now, I decided to take care of some maintenance on the E36. The E36 and most BMWs of this era are so easy to work on and cheap to own if you are willing to do some work yourself. So to help those that are unsure, this is a guide on how to do an oil change, oil filter replacement, spark plug replacement, air filter replacement and fuel filter replacement on a BMW E36 3 series.
The process is largely the same for most BMWs of the 80s and 90s.
** PART NUMBERS ** Note - I have provided a brief list below but if your model is slightly different, I would highly recommend googling or consulting your service manual for the exact recommendations of your vehicle as they may differ by region / model specification.
Engine Oil: Nulon 10W-40 (5L)
Spark Plugs: NGK BKR6EK (x4)
Oil Filter: Ryco R2583P (specific to M44)
Air Filter: Ryco A1744
Fuel Filter: MANN WK-516
