At the beginning of every new year, we're all excited to set goals. But at the end of every year, many of us are disappointed about the goals we never got around to completing. In this video, I'm going to show you how I bridge that gap, by creating goals that are actually achievable, and will truly make you feel happy and satisfied. Because growth as a content creator isn't all about vanity metrics and increasing your follower count - and what will really make you happy is probably hiding just under the surface. I neverrrr watch goal setting videos, but this one popped up and started playing automatically. I left it on and I’m so impressed and also found it so helpful!! As a mental health therapist, I find a lot of goal setting content to be restrictive, lacking depth, and missing the *human* aspect. But you really hit the nail on the head here!

I love this approach! I actually want to travel to Spain this year and I was also thinking of doing something that scares me, something spontaneous and outside of my routine once a week. Although, I didn't necessarily connect the two goals. Now I'm thinking about finding Spanish restaurants near me, etc, to create the feeling and experience. Thank youuu!!

I'm so gonna try this. I wrote my 'goals' down on Jan 1st & got so overwhelmed I stuffed my 'goal containing' journal in a draw & have resolutely ignored said journal & goals since. How do you balance the idea of feeling confident about your content vs being a perfectionist? I feel like I’m never fully proud of my content because I’m such a perfectionist. I end up just trashing most of my content since it’s “never good enough” in my mind.

awe I totally get what you mean - I think that's definitely a challenge. I feel like setting a timeline can help - like making your content something that you're proud of within the given time - which means you're not able to just edit and edit forever. Don't know if that will help, but that's my approach!

@@katie Thanks! Last year I read a lot of Middle Grade Fiction, Young Adult Contemporary, Fantasy, and Nonfiction. I especially love to focus on books written by and about BIPOC & LGBT+ people
