Paul shows you how to set up a budget OBDII ELM 327 bluetooth interface that was less than $/£/€20 to purchase from a well known website.
Included is a mini disc which makes it easy to set up on a pc, laptop, tablet or smartphone so you can scan your cars ECU wirelessly to your device.
Using an android smartphone we downloaded a free App from the Play Store to test and demonstrate it working.
Other Apps including pay, free, in App purchase or subscription are available though it may or may not work with all.
The features available to use i.e. read codes, clear codes, remap, etc are dependant on the App/software.

Cheers, just bought one the fella in the shop said it wont read all perameters on one app so he uses three different apps for full info.

@@Mr.CuriousGuy Sorry fellas didn't see your messages. Since buying itI haven't been back to the shop where I bought it, as soon as I do i'll update you. I just used it with the "car data" app but be warned it I couldn't get it to connect or work on my iphone, it refused to connect after pissing around for hours. As soon as I used an android tablet it connected.

Question, my ELM327 arrived in ADHOC mode (stupid) for 6 years i would use it searching non stop for an STN or Infrastructre mode or Version of the product, one day i decided to see if port 80 is open , it was (HTTP GUI), i switched it to Station mode, i entered SSD, Encryption (WPA2PSK CCMP) and the key ( even kept a screen shot) the ELM327 connects a few seconds to the AP and disconnects. I made sure the AP is set to the same Encryption type, and key... I even set a static/Fixed in the ELM327 .. Any tips? The unit is close to AP, tried many APs, legacy, wrt54g, dd-wrt. different channels. no go .

Try unplugging and plugging the obd2 port, if not try to connect through Bluetooth

I plugged mine in then scanned Bluetooth nothing also wifi and nothing at all why won’t it find it I tried with ignition on and off and engine on all that happens is a little red light on the obd when plugged in

It passes all info your pcm/car computer knows to the serial command. Its basicaly just an rs232 serial port. It measures nothing. It passes through.

Yes if the code isn’t permanent and persistent, like if the car knows the code is correct then it will stay on and not clear until fixed, but if it’s something minor you can usually clear it in the app, depends tho because some apps charge to clear codes

It’s able to identify all codes, but can only clear pending or codes that aren’t major

It has to be the wifi version for iPhone not the Bluetooth one

Guys try with other device. I solved problem when i change device. I tried with phone new gen after that i tried laptop and laptop cant even see device. Then i tried with little older phone and got connection. I disconnected that phone and tried again with my new phone and then got it. Password was 1234 for me.
