I just bought my Joy tonight and I was just going to open the box, look at everything, and then close it up, because I wanted to get my craft ramble set up before I started using it, but then I decided to unbox with a video, and yours was the first one. Thank you for talking us through it! I’m excited to do more with it! I love that I can put my Joy on my lap board and use it while I’m watching tv. I decided to put my first piece on the door of my Joy. I couldn’t think of anything close by that I might not toss out in the next week or two. lol I’m in the process of decluttering my apartment.

Question: Can I use regular Cricut sized vinyl, cut down to size, with my Joy? Or do I have to use just what’s made for he Joy?

Yup! You can use the mobile app for Design Space and it's easy to upload right from there!

I bought my wife this thing for her b day. She has 2 explore air 2s (the light pink and the black) and a rose gold maker... she said for months she wanted one of these so I got it for her. Good lord the thing is adorable. I thought it was a different thing all together. Nope. It's a miniature explore air 2. It's so cool. She loves it.

The Cricut Joy is great for so many things. Your wife will love using it. The no power button gets a lot of people. When I first got mine, I thought, how do I turn this on - only to realize it was already on. :)

You will use Iron-on Vinyl or HTV (heat transfer vinyl). You will not need a printer

Hey I got a cricut joy today an it won't cut keeps coming up with a solid red light. The blade cutting part is to the left idk how to get it back to the middle an if that's what's causing it not to feed through an gam when it goes to start cutting

I'm new to the cricut joy. I got it to set up on my phone. But I was having a problem doing it on my laptop. I'm very glad I found your video. You gave great instructions for me to follow. Because everything I saw was for signing up for files and paying out money. Thanks to you, I didn't have to go that way. Great video and thank you.

Set up was helpful but my cut didnt come out nearly as smooth as yours did. Im not sure what i did wrong but its not something i would want to place on anything because its not really smoothe. I did the flower and it was hard to get it started removing it from the vinyl. Any ideas?

You can use any kind of paper! Cricut has Smart Paper that is available to use and allows you to cut/draw without a mat, but if you want to use regular paper, you can just apply it to a cutting mat! You are correct! You can use the Joy without Wifi, but I would definitely recommend connecting once and a while for updates :)

Under the menu button in Design Space you can click on New Product Setup and it should walk you through a test cut. You can also click on Cricut Access if you would like to sign up for that as well.

Can someone tell me if Cricut Joy works with Chromebook? I feel like returning this Cricut. So frustrated. I bought this to make personalized ornaments and I can't find a way to "CURVE" it. It doesn't appear on my screen. Please help.

Design Space, the software required to use the Cricut Joy, requires a Windows or MAC operating system. Chromebooks run on Google's Chrome operating system, which is not compatible with Design Space.

You could try to redownload Design Space. Uninstall it completely from your computer and redownload it.

For people who don't have a lot of room in their crafting space or can't afford one of the larger machines of a different brand, this machine seems ideal for smaller scale paper crafters. I would hope that Cricut would make a version of the software for the Kindle Fire tablets. If it's not in the Kindle Appstore, you can't put it on your tablet without allowing third party apps and they really don't want you to do that.

I am sorry to hear that you are having some issues. Be sure that your Bluetooth is connected and strong. You can also try uninstalling Design Space and reinstall. Good luck!

You skipped a step where you didn’t say you had to create an account please be conscious of that when you’re given instruction via the computer only on the phone app
