I love how personal your home is...it hasn't become a Montessori school but the elements of Montessori have been made homey & personal for your family. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing your clutter and showing that it's a process with (sometimes) slow progress to declutter/set up a less cluttered space for our children and us and also being so honest and open about repurposing stuff. It really makes me feel good and empowered as opposed to some other videos out here that usually just make oneself feel less capable. Great tips as well, thanks!

Yes I love that about Montessori, reusing and recycling materials that you already have. It doesn’t have to look “trendy” as long as it’s tidy, not overwhelming and functional 🙌🏽🙌🏽. A lot of the best materials I bought were from what we call in Aotearoa (NZ) op shops AKA thrift stores 😊.

Exactly!! My uncle lives in NZ actually!! Coffee LaLa in Coromandel is his spot.

Love this! Much more realistic than some that I have seen! We do have a front facing bookshelf in our playroom and love it. But I also don't limit what books are out with the exception of holiday/seasonal books. I rotate what books are on the front facing part, but she has access to all the others in her room and on the slot at the bottom of our front facing shelf.
@theconfusedmom3 жыл бұрын
awe thank you!! So I ended up doing what you described actually! I got a small front facing bookcase for the fireplace mantel in here which we use for library books we rotate every 2 weeks and give her some books in her room so she basically has access to them all now but without the chaos haha!

I love how well organized and useful everything in this room is ❤️ Have you added a foreign language to your routine yet? What about Spanish? We would love to partner up with you!
@theconfusedmom3 жыл бұрын
thank you! We have not... we'd love for her to be bilingual, especially spanish! It's so helpful living where we live! We dealt with some speech stuff and she's just not been into language so far. So following the montessori approach of following her for now!

@@theconfusedmom that sounds good :) maybe in the future, when she enjoys language more? I can still send you the details if you like :)

Having weights in a toddlers play room seems dangerous

It may be for some kids! But in our case it follows Montessori principles and works for us... my daughter has been using them with me since she was 18 months (over a year now) and now uses them independently. They are a realistic part of life the complement the montessori sensitive period for movement (which I have a video on). It's what's right for our family, not for everyone...
