A lot have been asking how to download the files without having internet in the first place. I guess one detail I forgot to mention is to please download the files from another computer with internet first!! Perhaps going to a library can help with this. And also, as of April 2021, I'm still using this device and still am getting my isp (internet service provider) speeds. Take care everyone :)

Helping my mother set this up. The fact that you need to download the drivers FROM the internet to USE the internet has to be the dumbest design flaw to this product.

Just bought mine and had no clue how to install. Thanks to his video though it did help! Also pro tip, I downloaded the programs onto my cell phone and USB plugged it up to the comp and extracted the downloaded data to my computer. Let it download and in under 2 mins I had wifi access!!! I feel very proud of myself cause I'm not tech savvy at freaking all! 😂 didn't have my computer plugged in anyway to the internet.

I used my iPhone as a flash drive. Download the zip file from the URL on iPhone. Plug iphone into computer via usb. Move the download file into an app, I used ATT mobile transfer. Open iTunes, click iPhone icon. Click file transfer. Click the chosen app (ATT mobile transfer). Save the documents file. Open up the saved file on your computer and download the zip file.

I bought this thing about five years ago. It worked really well at first, but as time went on, mine started randomly having connection drops for no reason at all. It started to happen right after I went from cox internet (ridiculously overpriced) to a T-Mobile internet service which seems to work pretty well even though it’s not as fast. Unfortunately, the week after the switch I started getting Internet disconnects when it was under load playing a game. Cox was using an 802.11n Wi-Fi band but when I went to the T-Mobile service it became wifi 5 @ 802.11AC, which then updated to Wifi 6 at 802.11ax which is basically the upgraded version of Wifi 4 802.11n. My laptop had no problems with my game having disconnects, but my desktop is having the issue using this Wi-Fi adapter. With all my tests and theories it started to become apparent that my Wi-Fi adapter must’ve gone bad. I have no issues on the laptop with the embedded Wi-Fi chip in it. But this thing was pretty good when it was working.

Do I plug this into my Xbox that gets bad service or my router on the 1st floor?

There is an installation CD that comes with this adapter. If you have a CD Drive on your PC/Laptop, use that to install the drivers. I don’t how someone with no internet to BEGIN WITH would be able to download the drivers from a website but thankfully there’s the CD.

Yo dude. Hypothetically would this be a good adapter to use for somebody who'd be using this solely for travel and reliant on coffee shop wifi spots - i.e is the set up as easy as finding a network and entering it's password or do you need information found on the modem. cheers.

Hello, I have a Question. If my wifi box is at one end of the house at the corner, And from my room which is at another corner parallel to the wifi. From my room, I get a 4 out 5 wifi range bar. so if I connect this wifi receiver(1900 Netgear) will I get a solid 5 out of 5 range connectivity??

netgear genie is pure junk. i suddely was getting disconnected more and more frequently. i checked my unifi controller and everything was good on the wifi ap side. i removed the usb3 cradle dock and plugged it directly into my computer. bam! no more disconnects.

So i bought this in order to have internet on a pc that doesnt have built in wifi support. How tf am I supposed to download a driver ok this pc if i dont have wifi… The way they should’ve done this is you download drivers using s different pc and import those drivers onto the adapter so yoi can then plug it into the computer you need it for. The current setup makes this product damn near pointless.

Nobody get this it is very unreliable. I’m getting a new one for my pci slot which will be much better than this. What’s bad about it is that the connection is fairly strong then every 10 seconds or less the connection drops and if you are playing any multiplayer game you will lag horribly. It has good days and bad days but is never constantly bad nor good. It seems to try and switch the connection but any fix I’ve seen and tried to replicate does not work.
