Brilliant Matt..I have been bit lazy about looking properly into international postage..just currently have a flat rate for whole world and only for items 500 g and under but this has inspired me to sit down and actually set up proper templates for each region. Thank you!

Great video man! Important note for people sending DVDs, Video games etc as a large letter. Auspost are no longer allowing those types of rigid items to go as a large letter and they now have to go at the cost of a parcel

Crazy. I just sent a couple more using the tracked one. Always make sure it's under 2cm though. Postage here is nuts. It amazing how you can buy some things on ebay, shipped from china for $2 including postage

Instead of four different locations with prices, why not use "calculate postage", select your locations (and I think you have to include dimensions and weight - but that's easy)?

I truely think if you're a beginner it's important to know your numbers initially. Over time the calculate postage feature is a good one for sure.

Thanks Matt, just bought a DVD bulk lot and there are a lot of Region 1’s in there so International shipping has been forced upon me I guess. This is great. Single DVDs you could just blanket a $20 postage rate and it would work out around that price anywhere around the world. I do that for all my DVDs and I’m rarely out of pocket!

What do you post them in mate? It looks like international satchels prepaid to USA are around $27.25. Are you doing something differently to get the cost down? Thanks for the help

I got a message from EBay Yesterday about international postage saying you can now “Print your postage labels on eBay and save 5%” you can complete the customers form online with the postage label that makes it more interesting to do, might give that a go

I have a question about postage with Australia post. Hope you can help me. I’ve had a go at the templates on EBay I’ve got the hang of it now. But how does it work with the different dimensions, widths etc. I have a printout of Australia post domestic and international postage prices that mentions standard flat rates for weight. But when I go onto Australia post to send an item you have to put it the width, length etc and that can change the postage price quite a bit. Bit confused here! Thanks in advance!

hmmmm im not 100% sure - I typically will take my items into the post and pay there (I know thats not the most efficient way of doing it so i may not be the best to help here) - the post office measures it up sometimes on the spot and charges accordingly - I've never been out of pocket on a dimension issue. Sorry I cant be of any further help here.

I find calculated postage much easier. No need to know any shipping price, EBay does it for you automatically anywhere in the world.

I agree with this however i think its important for beginners to have an understanding of the numbers behind the international postage rates. Once you have that grasp calculated postage is definately the thing to do!

G'day Matt...trying to set up international post template using Australia Post. Down in the international mailing section, my destination set-up screen looks nothing like yours....I made a wall hanging and want to list it to multiple destinations...Europe..United States...Asia...But the international postage section won't let me set up for multiple destinations...??? I was only able to list in for domestic and 1 other international destination. ?? No ebay store

Hi Matt, very nice presentation. However, you didn't mention irreguler packages. For example, I have a lot of people contacting over seas asking me if I send internationally. I bought many rare collectible figures when I was living in Japan. Some are still in the original packaging, but others are loose and I want to get rid of them. Therefore, I go to Bunnings and grab a whole stack of big and small boxes, especially for loose figures as a satchel will not be secure enough to protect a delicate figure with movable parts etc. So I tend to use a small box, fill it with packing and tape it up. That way the item is more secure. I measure the box dimensions and weigh it and then send it via calculated postage within Australia with irregular package selected because it's not a statchel. Many of the small boxes are light weight. Could you please advise me what to do about making boxes or what to tick on etc, etc? Thanks Matey.

Super cute address lol Thank you for going through that with us that is super cool ! Gosh how steep is international lol! How much % of your goods are overseas now compared to before? How’s marketplace treating you? I have had a few things ship interstate already. I have another question when a buyer requests PayPal do you send a generated QR code to them so they can scan it and pay? I have totally forgotten how to send that to people to pay me. Also do you have pay id setup if someone wants to send you something by bank transfer?

Im on managed payments now so its been a little different for me lately! Super smooth payment process though, im glad im finally set up on it! - id say 10% of sales is international now.. roughly speaking!

Hey Matt! im trying to ship a sealed beyblade to mexico, ive found some lists online that say toys are banned from being imported. is it not possible to send? seems silly to me, how would people send gifts to their family if that was true? I dont want customs to take it.

I list on my phone & have a set international rate of $30 for a single DVD. When it's a sale to NZ the guilt usually sets in & I refund $10. 😂

I just had my first international sale today to NZ. The order total came to $31.03 But eBay took out Fees + and international sales fee + a VAT charge. So it ended up being like almost double the usual fees. it changed my $31.03 total into $26.94 and then said the fees were $4.80 on top of that. So my NET pay after all of these fees came to only $22.18. It didn't make sense to me. Do you have a way of accounting for that when sending internationally, so you won't lose out?

ooohhh i havent looked into this too heavily to have an answer Adriano! Only doing 2-3 sales a week internationally. Free postage domestically allows me to make a few extra $$ as the buyer pays international postage on top so that's worn in the fees i guess!

Why do you do "each additional" as $10? why not 2 or 5 or another number? Is this ane extra fee on top of the normal shipping fee? Or is this an extra $10 per same item?
