HOW TO setup a 3 gallon Caridina shrimp tank

This is how I setup a 3 gallon Caridina shrimp tank. I am going to be adding some Shrimp to this tank soon. This is a very simple setup that anyone can recreate. This is for educational purposes and this has worked for me. I also just started using SL-Aqua products for all my breeding tanks and it has all worked great. Remember to keep testing water parameters as that is the most important thing. Good luck with your future shrimp tanks and as always thank you for watching!

I forget all these new techniques, good to see a refresher on all the chemicals used nowadays to accelerate a cycle. I'll take note for future reference. I'm old school and don't mind the waiting game.

Because the cycling cannot begin until there is ammonia present, I recommend you add the ammonia on the first day when you add the Seachem Stability. When you add the Stability without ammonia, the bacteria don't have anything to consume so they probably just die off.

i assume the substrate is active and therefore he has ammonia present

Most definitely. I did not receive the product on time but yes I would recommend adding it since day 1 and maybe again at day 6-7 to keep the bacteria working hard. Thanks for the input bro

Couldn't you just add a few shrimp food pellets or almond leaf in the beginning to release the amonia?

Magic powder is not actually bacteria it promotes bacteria growth. For bacteria you should use something like sl aqua milione or plamski shrimp farm brio powder

Plamskis brio powder also has tannins and enzymes, it also has vitamins to promote thicker shells and healthier shrimp.

As I watch the video I noticed you did 2 doses of gh+ this is not needed if you do 100-120 the first day.
