Hi, We are migrating between domains. Part of this is moving VMs from one host on DomainA to another host on DomainB. We currently have CredSSP enabled for Hyper-V Live Migration on all hosts. We're getting this error message back from the target Hyper-V host, when attempting the move on the source Hyper-V host:

Hey great video to watch and insightful but there is one thing i have been hard time figuring out and researching for. Is having two different forrest and domains in different subnets an issue? i have been trying to look for examples and it is almost always an example with domains in the same subnet.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. You can have forests and domains on the same subnet or different subnets. If they are on different subnets then there will need to be relevant routes setup to allow communication between both subnets. Hope that helps.

@@TechWithEmilio all good mate set it up. I had some assumptions that group membership would translate on like for like. Ie domain admins on one get added to the other but it didn't, needed to be added manually which is preferred as can limit folder and system access through GPO

Hi, if I am getting Unable to resolve when adding the new zone, how can I fix that? I am able to ping the IP addresses of each DC and get the reply.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Have you ensured that relevant ports are open on your firewall and that all routes are setup correctly? Is there a clear connection between the two DC's?

Awesome video! I have a question im stuck on if anyone could help, I get "The operation can't be performed on the current domain" with the trust wizard. I am able to ping ip/dns and get replies. I am running 2016 win server, any ideas?

Have you promoted the server to a domain controller? Or are you using a cloned vm or dc image?

@@jasonmckenzie3137 i got this on one of two server's between a two way trust setup. To work around the issue i setup the trust from the far side "remote" as i had the admin creds for both. Im unclear why the issue occured on two different dev server 2019 build vms using virtbox. Worked fine on remote side setup, exact same steps.
