Thanks. I find that in Google Analytics about 30% of my traffic is attributed to "Direct" traffic when it's very definitely not - ie. it is paid or social or organic or email etc. I've set up Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 under best practices, but still the problem persists. Does it have to do with your Marketing (optional) settings as the bottom of the general settings?

What you're experiencing is pretty normal from what we gather. Google doesn't always know where someone is coming from. 30% being categorized as direct doesn't seem abnormal, but more of a "no tracking is every 100% perfect".
