Skull caps will be your friend. Helps with longer hair and keeps you somewhat warm without adding bulk. Nvg helmets are just as much or more-as motorcycle helmets.

HAHA I fell down a BUNCH learning to run NODs. Almost drowned in the desert when I didn't see a deep irrigation ditch during a long night movement...fun times
