Thank you Diane. 've seen some sewists slightly pull at the edges of the sewn welts before sewing down the duck points. This helps to smooth out the four corners.

Just finished 2 of these pockets on the front of a cotton print shirt...I did a top stitch around the welt & inserted tabs made from folded belt loop strips to button the pockets closed...looks terrific...thank you so much for the simple but tailored looking construction instructions...........

for many years I have put welts together as directed on the pattern notes, OMG, you have changed my world,,, thanks for being so helpful, I never knew welts could be done so easy, fast and perfect, I will never read a direction again, I do want you do know, I have made notes and will use this process always

Thanks soo much Diane your I instructions are so clear. I tried it and I did it. I was not sure about the size of the strips for the welt so after sewing it I had to trim off about 1cm so that it would fit neat once it was ironed...
