How to Sew a Simple Clutch bag by Debbie Shore

Just four pieces of fabric and a little wadding makes a useful clutch bag, for special occasions, or to use as a storage pouch!
Materials from www.debbieshoresewing.com
You will need:
1 outer and 1 lining piece each measuring 12" x 11"
1 outer and 1 lining piece each measuring 12" x 6"
fusible fleece [H640] cut to the same size as the outer pieces
magnetic snap

Amazing how when you folded the bag the flowers matched perfectly. I made the heart shaped scissor holder out of Peace sign fabric & realized at the end I had the peace signs upside down. LOL I still love it.👍❤💚💜🧡💙

I have found the heat erasable pens have a habits of showing up again if exposed to cold. i. e taken outside when it is freezing temperature......I have resolved to using thin painters tape to make lines, or the sewing foot that has a distance guide to it. But this clutch bag will be a very good Christmas present this year.

Ms. Debbie or anyone if I use faux leather what should I stabilise the bag with or do I even need to use a stabiliser? Grateful for your response anyone who has the experience. Thank you.

You don’t necessarily need stabiliser, that depends on how firm you’d like the bag…

@@debbieshore Thanks Debbie..was gifted !!! by my dear hubby..a Bernina 590..yes..never asked me..all the bells and whistles..for our 40th anniversary..yep BIG gift with a plug! Just wanted my Pfaff of 30+ years fixed..and it was used when I got it! Needed something easier to use..a workhorse type of machine..while I sew things to sell to pay for this Bernina! Will shop and look for those..wasnt sure if Elnas were still being made.
