How to Sew a Straight Edge to a Curved Edge

This is a tutorial on how to sew a straight edge to a curved edge. To demonstrate this technique, I'm using the Sew Powerful Purse and you can learn more about this wonderful project at www.sewpowerful.org
This technique can also be applied to sewing a tube.

Thanks - just what I was looking for. My first machine was like yours, but a hand crank. I got a motor for it. They are superb machines and have lots of useful attachments like the seam guide - still worth buying.

Do you know what the attachment is called that you have on the bed of your machine? I have an old Singer too. :)

It's a seam guide. If you search 'Vintage Singer Seam Guide', you will find them. It screws into the bed of the machine and you can adjust it according to the seam allowance you need.

Is there a specific name of that presser foot?

It's a vintage Singer presser foot. I cannot find a specific name for it, however, here is a link to a close up picture of it. It's available in both high and low shank, depending on the machine. singer-featherweight.com/products/presser-foot-attachment-vintage-singer?variant=9051567811

Thanks for asking. Yes it was me who created those videos, however the designer, Sally Thompson, is refusing to refund some who have repeatedly asked for a refund in a zipper buy group she organised and has treated people very badly so I can no longer associate myself with her and her products. That is why I removed them. Sorry they are no longer available. Sally did indicate over a month ago that she would create her own, so perhaps you could ask her in relation to the progress of those videos.
