How to Sew a Woven Box Pouch with Mx Domestic

In this video, I show you how to sew a box pouch from a woven panel. Using a pre-woven and quilted panel, you'll learn how to install a zipper, attach binding to hide exposed seam allowance, boxing the corners and many other tips. And you don't need to have a woven panel to create this as the tutorial will work with traditionally quilted panels and non-quilted fabric the same.

I watch a fair amount of sewing videos, and I want to tell you that I am impressed with your straight seams. This angle from which you are filming shows it all, and I see a lot of people varying a lot. Your stitches are just as straight and true as can be.

I’ve dropped in on your channel a bunch of times over the past few years, and I remember you doing the fabric weaving quite awhile back. An interesting technique, and you make it look beautiful. I also remember catching a post about you taking time away from your “influencer” role, as it was getting toxic for you. I can see how that can happen, and I’m glad to see you return to sharing your creativity practice with the rest of us. That is influential enough, I think.

I just completed 2 birthed boxy bags and the boxed corners were soooo hard to do. I think I'll try it with the bounds corners. Oh, if you put the zipper pull on and run it right off the opposite end then put it on again, your entire zipper will be closed. Makes it easier to sew the end where you had it open. Just an idea. Thanks for the video

I believe that the ones that they are using are from Magic-the company that makes magic pins, however Clover also makes a very good XL wonder clip……I discovered the Clover brand XL wonder clips before the Magic ones, I don’t use them often however when needed they are very useful and hold very well. MX may have a link for them in their description box 🤔🤔 I hope that this helps.

I have a very hard time getting the zipper pull on the zipper. Do you have a trick to do it?

I believe that it’s the Gypsy quilter that makes a easy to use zipper pull tool and I have also seen a couple content creators put out videos showing where they folded down the outside tines of a fork, leaving the 2 in the middle standing straight up-they then placed the zipper pull between the tines to hold it into position and then they slid the teeth onto either side. Hope that this helps.
