This video is a demonstration of how to sew sheets for a Moses basket. There is also a little homeschooling interruption thrown in for good measure. www.andreamills.tv Mills Family P.O. Box 323 Moorcroft, Wyoming 82721 USA

I love how u stop what ever ur doing for your children. My mom used to always yell and say “ don’t you see I’m busy”. I know that was just her way and how she was raised but I do admire how you make the time for them even with as many as you have. I’m trying to do the same with my daughter. Although she’s two and has to come and show/tell me everything!! 😁

Wow!! I love it!! I'm a beginner. Well, so far, I've bought a sewing machine and need to begin using it 😅 I will attempt to sew this bassinet sheet before my baby girl arrives. I'm so excited! Thank you for posting.

I'm sorry to hear about Andrea. It's very obvious she was an amazing mother and held on to traditional family values! I look forward to making sheets for my moses basket 🙂 (and stashing the spares under the mattress! Great mom hack!)

Tom - Solomon’s interaction with Andrea starting at 2:30 and running about a minute is truly precious. The end of the interaction is the best part. I know you told us to let you know about good clips of the kids so if you feel up to it you can watch that. ♥️ what an amazing woman.

I really like how this doesn't use elastic- I hate messing with that lol. I'm going to use the same method for bassinet sheets. I just made a few fleece blankets using your method/ they were so quick and easy, and I like the smaller size too I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of them. Love the baby sewing videos!

This is lovely. Our bassinet is a family heirloom that my father was put into as a baby and i had it for my daughter. It has no padding in it when we got it as it was 60 years old so my mother sew a beautiful lining for it. I cherish it x we just found out that we are having a baby boy come july and all is healthy with him x

Oh smart! I never thought to make bassinet sheets like that... i made some like a shower cap style and not only did they keep coming off, they were a pain to gather and sew the elastic on! Your way is far easier and better!

Is the light on your sewing machine blue? And if so, do you like it better than the regular colored light?
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
I think it must look like that in the video because of the black machine. It's a regular white light, but it does look different on video.

Big buddies help little buddies whenever I need extra hands. They might get their coats on and buckle them in their car seats. They help make them breakfast or lunch, if needed. They hold their hands when we're out and keep an extra eye on them with me. Those kinds of things. Thomas is Justus' big buddy. Justus is Sophia's big buddy. Asher is Eden's big buddy. Eden is Claudia's big buddy. Judah is Solomon's big buddy. Solomon is Hannah's big buddy. The biggest buddy on the team watches over both of the smaller buddies.

How long will the baby sleep in the moses basket? We tried a bassinet in our room, but I was getting no sleep. This week my papa died so we were out of town without my husband. Ended up cosleeping and it went beautifully, so now I think the reason I didn't sleep well in the beginning was because I was too worried as a first time mom. Considering a moses basket for the next baby, because I really love having baby close by but cosleeping isn't safe for our family because my husband and I roll over too much.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
She'll sleep in our bed at night for the first 4-6 weeks and in the basket during the day. Then we transition to the basket at night. We usually keep the babies in the basket until they are between 4 and 6 months. It depends on the baby. Some of them sleep very still, others like to roll around. We transition to the crib for daytime naps for a month or so before we start putting them in the crib to sleep at night.

I was about 12 when I started sewing in earnest. I made my first shirt then and my first blanket at 12 or 13. My mom didn't sew at all, but she was very supportive of my desire to learn.
