Finally, this is the third video I've looked at and this is the only one that makes it clear which part of the blade is being sharpened. It would have helped to take it a tiny bit slower so people could make sure they're looking at the right part of the scissor, maybe a close-up would help.. However, this explains it well enough that I will be able to sharpen my scissors! Thank you!

Oh thank you sooo very much for creating thos video. I do a lot of sewing and my best Gingher scissors are in need of sharpening in a bad way. I really don't have the extra funds to pay $25-$30 to sharpen them! Your demo was the best I have viewed. You demoed the before and after cutting of the fabric. That makes a diff. You can also use the neck of a glass bottle [try to "cut" neck off], the bottom of a ceramic cup [try to "slice" off a piece of the rough edge], and the edge of a car window ["cut" down into the window].

Tried out the first method-with sandpaper, exactly the way shown; the medium sized scissor for kitchen use (for use to cut open plastic Sachets of milk, curd- HAS NOT GOTTEN ANY SHARPER. After all the cutting it STILL DOES NOT CUT THROUGH THIS THIN POLYBAG. Very disappointing.
