HOW TO SHAVE AN ENGINE BAY!!

Today we break down our engine bay shave process! It's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to have a clean shaved engine bay, but it's so worth it. We break down the process into disassembly, metal work, body work, and paint.

After editing this video I thought of a couple more things to consider on your shave: Please remember to cap all fuel lines, brake lines, p/s lines! You don't want to get debris in the lines, and you don't want a car fire...That would not be fun. Also at the end of the day it IS an engine bay and it needs to be functional, so don't get too caught up in deleting everything. Lastly, use weld-through-primer on the back side of your panels so they don't rust from the backside!

Everytime is see such a cleaned enginebay, i really admire it and in my mind in go through all "missing" parts. Its hell of a work. But my car collection is for driving. I have summer cars, i have a winter car and i have cars for driving arround the whole year. The youngest is a 95 corrado vr6. And i have them for driving. If needed from germany to the north of scandinavia in a few days. i need simple access for maintenance or troubleshooting. no, they are not failing every 1000km, but if there is something wrong, i dont want to take the whole car appart to look for fuses, houses and so on.

We use a makita belt sander. We modified the end to use 24" belts. There are custom wheels for the tip available made from rubber instead of metal. This allows for cleanup in corners or creases without any chattering or unwanted markings. Splitting the half inch belt into quarter inch strips works even better. I wouldnt buy anything other than ceramic alumina belts by klingspor. The fabric belt lasts longer than the grit applied, which is miraculous...

Noticed you said the overflow was relocated down onto the frame, your overflow should be the highest point in your coolant chain. Especially on anything complex or high displacement , that way a proper bleed is possible and you don't end up with warped heads from an air pocket.

One of the few channels that drops the "like & sub" at the end of the video. I don't understand why some start their videos with that.

Another tip only if you have access behind a hole use a brass bar put it up to it and weld on to it the the filler rod well not stick to brass and you got a somewhat less hassle
