I was about to suggest Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm but I realized this was posted 4 years ago. Which one did you end up getting?

You save a shit ton of money you can buy 100 double edged blades for only 10$ just give it a try and you'll never go back to Gillette . They have even noticed there lossing customers due to these old school razors coming back in style and are trying to sell there own lol

+Jedi Mojo Jojo I have a shaving station in the shower. Heat and water vapor from the shower replicate the effects of a hot towel, and you have more control over heat and your overall comfort level. I also use a squeeze tube for shave cream instead of an aerosol can. Propellants in the can mix with the cream -- that's why it's foamy out of the can -- and can irritate the skin. Preshave oil will definitely help you avoid nasty things like razor burn or cuts, and it also helps remoisturize your skin. I don't personally use it because I usually just landscape my beard. Finally, if you aren't shaving, it's still a good idea to lather up your face if you have stubble or a beard. This helps keep your whiskers soft and your woman happy.

There's this stone called an alum block if you've ever got a shave at a barbershop and noticed after the shave they wet the face with water and rub this block or clear rock over the face and it stings for a minute then wipe it off not all barbers use it tho , look it up its a natural formed deposit taken from the earth that's been used for thousands of years by ancient Egyptians , look into it they sell them online if you can't find them locally . That's your best bet to heal the nicks and cuts and stop from the irritation . Hopefully your not one of those men who don't like the short stingy sensation it leaves when you rub on the block it stings because of all the minor cures and scrapes from the shave ect you'll find out give it a try I use it all the time heals in no time

The best way to deal with breaking the skin is to set yourself up to avoid breaking the skin, and that's all down to three things: Preparation, preparation, preparation. Here are some habits I've developed since switching to a proper blade: 1. Switching to a proper razor is a good start. You will also notice your razor refill budget nearly vanish. 2. Now more than ever, you will need to mow down excessively long hairs before putting blade-to-face. Long hairs are the enemy of sharp blades, and if you dull the blade within a few swipes you are going to get a lot of cuts, tugs, and razor burn. The blades for a proper razor are so thin that one pass of your face is enough to dull the blade beyond usefulness -- unlike a Gillette which relies on multiple, small, thick blades which sacrifice closeness for strength. 3. If you don't want the trouble of preparing a hot towel every time, try setting up your shave station in the shower. The water vapor has the same effect as a hot towel, and you're already in the shower anyway. This softens the whiskers. 4. You will want to ditch any shave foams that depend on propellant. Propellant is distributed throughout the foam (that's how it comes out all foamy) and it causes the skin to become irritated. It won't help avoid nicks, but it is crucial for a comfortable, rejuvenating shave. I prefer squeeze tubes, and there are formulas for all types of skin. 5. You may wish to consider preshave oil. If the blade can glide easily, then it won't get caught and dig into your face while you're exerting force on the razor. Preshave oil helps soften the whiskers, and it also helps remoisturize the skin throughout the shave. 5. Work the shave cream into the beard and just hang out for a few minutes -- if you shave your face in the shower, do all your other washing up at this point. This makes the whiskers even softer. I do this even if I'm not shaving, because my wife loves how soft my beard feels afterward! A soft beard can turn a dinner date into a morning-after breakfast. (let me know if you want to know how to cook the perfect omelette) 6. Go to town on your whiskers, and after the shave be sure to rinse the area thoroughly. Non-alcoholic treatment is best for the area. Remember, you've just taken a layer of skin off your face, so it does need a little TLC after the fact. This is where that preshave oil before the shave helps you get a head start on taking care of your skin. 7. If you're unlike me and you tend to bleed when you cut yourself, a little wad of toilet paper or an astringent applied with a cotton swab will help avoid further infection. As Lucas pointed out, an alum block may help, but I've never experienced it firsthand so I really don't know. Sorry for being a little vague on this. 8. If you do any manscaping, you may wish to use some of these tips in that area. For the love of God and country, DO NOT use a proper razor on your wedding tackle. It is too contoured and too far away from your eyes for you to see what you're doing. Use a good disposable razor for this area. They are 2 separate I think. I don't think it samples it. It is the intro from Breezin than a completely different song.

+jeffry yohanes do you mean blade or razor? The blade goes inside the razor in order to shave. Blades are extremely cheap and can be bought for as little as 20c a blade. A good and cheerful beginners is the Murker 34c and as long as you get your technique down you should have great shaves with it.

You probably know by now, but hot water softens and expands/thickens the hair, making it easier to cut. The reverse is true when using cold water, which is part of the reason why he recommends it at the end.

@@joyghosh5655 I've never even been to a barber. Not that I'm amazing at shaving or anything, but it's good enough. But I didn't start using a DE Razor until recently. It does require a little bit more practice than standard ones, but I like the result so far. The whole reason I quit Gillette is because it's damn expensive and because of their toxic feminist campaign.

@@thenonexistinghero tbh now that I am shaving at home it's quite fun I mean I started using Gillette Guard which is a single edge cartridge razor for a few months and bought the yaqi shaving brush and Dettol shaving cream. Later I used my grandfather Gillette fatboy on setting 4 and bought the phoenix shaving soap CAD and after that bought few more razors like the Muhle Rocca, Merkur Futur,Rockwell Model T and also the Parker variant and bought lots of soaps and now it has became a hobby and I don't remember last time I went for a shave at the barbers. Nowadays I only go for a haircut
